      Cover Springs
I looked around quite a bit before finding the correct set of cover springs. The ones on my pool were starting to give out from some of the overly abundant snow we get during winter here. Originally I ordered the wrong ones and In the Swim quickly and easily refunded and exchanged them for me. The products are perfect OEM parts and the customer service rates second to none.

Meyco is a Great cover, 5 years and going strong.
My pool deck was redone this summer, I'm back to Meyco to buy new pop-up anchors. I would not think of using some other cover. I lived with a cover other than Meyco for 10 years and am so glad we went to Meyco.

      Great Winter Cover Products
Great stuff! Only had to replace one broken anchor and 5 springs because of the 4th largest winter northern IN had on record.

      Acceptable performance
This past year was the first year using them. I did not purchase enough of them to go around the whole pool so I had both the blocks and bags. They were just as effective as bags as both had a tendency to be dragged towards the pool. However we did loose a couple of bags during winter due to leakage and that side wound up in the drink. The aqua blocks stayed full. Some of the lids did blow off and had to be put back on several times. Cleanup was super easy, just dump the water and stack. This ... read more year I am getting enough for the other half and possibly positioning them diagonally to keep more weight on the cover to keep it from slipping. I'm done with bags. However they do take up more space in storage.

      Aqua blocks
I had purchased these blocks 15 years ago at a local pool store . Untill now I could not find a dealer who carried them ( thank you). I needed to replace some that have become brittle and will continue to due the same as the old ones are all replaced. They are a better way to secure your pool cover . The ease of placing and filling make it a breeze . Storing is also better as they stack well one inside the other. Much better than the moldy blue bags I use to use UGH! I highly recommend these ... read more blocks they last much longer that the awful blue bags . The blue bags generally only lasted one year. Do the math it's a much better investment.

      Does the job
Not sure why the lid catches are not more secure... They need a bit more plastic in each catch to hold the lid properly. Often, the catching mechanism is so flimsy that it's difficult to know when the lid is actually locked in place.

Does the job - but with a catch
I bought one of these and used it for 2 seasons. I found the water to be very clean once it was removed - but then there was the chore of cleaning and storing yet another cover. It floats but a certain amount of water does puddle in places and algae grows there, so although the pool water is clear, the cover is pretty nasty on top. I have an approximate 20'x40' lazy L, so this thing is BIG. It has bubbles on it like a solar cover, which makes it float. These bubbles mean you can't walk on it ... read more to clean, so you're forced to fold it and clean one side at a time, but then the clean side is laying where the dirty side was just previously. I have an electric pressure washer and even being very careful it would pop some bubbles, so I stopped. An RV brush was the best but still it was very awkward trying to fold and clean it. Once somewhat clean (I never was very successful), and let to dry, roll it up and put it, for us, in the basement - a 5' tall roll about 2 1/2 ft. in diameter. I gave it 3 stars because, on one hand it does keep the water clean, but on the other it did not save me time or effort. I stopped using it because I found it easier to deal with pool water cleanup than to clean and store the cover. My eventual solution was to buy a quality suction side cleaner. That simplified vacuuming and my pool cleanup is very easy. I don't even use water bags any more, even though they helped keep debris from going under the cover. That saved the time of cleaning and storing them, too. The year after buying the suction cleaner I also changed from sand to cartridge filters and cleanup is even easier (no backflushing during the cleanup time).

      Awesome Product
Prior to using the Safety Cover Mate, every spring we would open the pool to find it looking like a scene out of the "Creature From the Black Lagoon". On a recommendation from a friend, I purchased this product prior to closing, last September, stretched it out over our mountain lake pool cut it using a utility knife with the pool coping as a guide and let it drop right in. I put in the submersible pump on the top step, under the Cover Mate and put on the Loop-Loc. To my surprise, we opened the ... read more pool last week to nice clear water. Scooping out the leaves was easy because I able to see them!!!! I threw in the automatic vac to do a fine cleaning, added 2 gallons of shock and took a sample of water to be tested at the local pool supply store. Even more to my surprise, I was told I only needed 5 bags of salt. Everything else was perfect. The pool was ready the very next day. The Safety Cover Mate has already paid for itself and then some. My normal annual cost to get the pool ready to swim in was around $400 and would take me a week or two of constantly dumping in chems and cleaning the cartridge filters. This year it only cost me $43 in salt and minimal effort.

I really won't have an opinion until I open next
I installed the cover and cut it to fit,it actually made putting the safety cover on easier. I really won't have an opinion until I open again to see if it was worth the expense

      Good quality items
The tools were super easy to use once I figured out how to use them. They did not come with instructions. However use of the tools was intuitive.

      Handy tool
I have not used the removal/installation tool yet. I did watch a pool tech from the company that closed our pool this year and have no doubt that it will work as well as the device he used.

      Good pump
has no base to stand flat on the cover, other than that this pump works like a champ

No clog filter is a great feature
Money well spent it will get the job done! I would recommend this one.

      Money well spent
This is our second year of using this pump and it's still working like brand new. For the money, it's definitely a great little pump and keeps our cover clear of excess water.

      I'm sold!
Short version: this stuff works! Longer version: For the past several years I've been opening my 20,000 gallon (w/ mesh safety cover) pool to find it so green and nasty looking (due to the mesh safety cover), that at times I thought draining it might be a better option. That said, I figured I would give this [Pool Magic Plus Phosfree Pool Cleaner] a try, especially since it was still relatively warm when I closed the pool. I did the normal closing procedure, but this time added Pool Magic ... read more too. Then in March, I added a second bottle (as the product recommends). Well, I just pulled the pool cover off and... WOW! This stuff REALLY works! I was expecting to see the usual algae green water that's so dark and 'thick' you can't see the bottom of the pool (or the steps for that matter). However, this year, not only is the water not green but, for the first time EVER, I can actually see the bottom of the pool (even in the deep end)!

More on Safety Pool Cover Parts & Accessories

Pool Safety covers are the best thing going - they always look great with minimal care and cleaning, and can last for over a decade! However, safety covers do require some maintenance and parts replacement from time to time. Here we have assembled safety pool cover parts, tools and accessory items, to keep your pool safety cover in tip-top shape. In The Swim replacement parts and tools will fit all brands of safety covers by Buffalo, Cantar, GLI, HPI, Loop-Loc, Meyco and more.

Brass Cover Anchors: Cover anchors should be replaced if they become inoperative. Old anchors can be removed with our Brass Anchor Removal Tool, which allows you to easily leverage old cover anchors from a concrete pool deck. Simply tap the new Brass Cover Anchor into the hole with any type of hammer, using the Anchor Tamping Tool. Thread in the pin to the anchor and connect your spring.

Installation and Removal Tools: The main tools needed are the Cover Hex Key, a tempered steel Allen wrench of the right size to fit any brass cover anchor. Extra long hex key can be used without kneeling down, or when used horizontally, makes a fast anchor spinner. The Safety Cover Installation Rod is the second main tool that every safety cover owner needs. Notched steel tube with heavy duty handle allows for levering the strap spring over the cover anchors. For removal, twist the Installation Rod between the spring and anchor and simply lean it forward, towards the pool.

Extension Straps and Hardware: Extension Straps are used to extend the cover straps to anchors placed off the pool deck, or beyond a planter area. The Y-Strap for safety covers is used when a diving board, fountain or other large obstruction, allowing you to connect to two anchors on either side. In this section we also have replacement stainless steel safety cover Strap Buckles and cover Strap Tips. Stainless steel rings are used in place of the cover spring, in cases where a wall is tall wall is within 15" of the pool edge.

Specialty Anchors and Stakes: Specialty safety cover anchors are aluminum Cover Stakes that can be used in planter or grassy areas, or in paver pool decks. In this section we also have cover Wall Anchors used for installing safety covers on inground pools with raised wall or raised deck areas.

Springs and Spring Covers: We have two sizes of safety cover strap springs, and the vinyl covers that are used to prevent the small scratches that cover springs can make on a pool deck, as it expands and contracts. Use the 4" Short Springs only in locations where there is not enough room to use the longer 8" Cover Springs.

Storage Bags and Patch Kits: Safety Cover Storage Bag replacements for storing your safety cover safely during summer, are made of mesh cover material, with durable tie rope to cinch the bag tightly. Safety Cover Patches are made to quickly patch both solid and mesh safety pool covers with a self-adhesive heavy duty patch, 3"x8" in size, in 5 colors, and 3 types.
