NOT an UPgrade from Polaris 280
I had one of these installed when I built my pool in 1999. Struggled with breaking belts and constantly replacing the pressure relief valve on the side of pool for years. Finally decided to buy another 380 to see if maybe if would work better... When I went to pool store I said " I want another 380 " and the owner said " NO, you don't, and reccommended the Polaris 280...gear drive with no belts to break, said they had gone back to reccommending them." I was thrilled, I was familiar with the ... read more older model but had just assummed they weren't made anymore. I've had the Polaris 280 for 2 years now and only wish I had known they were still made years ago.....My sister had a gear drive Polaris for over 20 years and never had a problem....she sold that house so I don't know what the current owner is using of course....

      Love our Polaris pool cleaner!
This is the third Polaris we've had in the 16 years we have had our pool. They have saved me countless hours of labor cleaning our pool, thus giving more time to enjoy it. I would not have any other pool cleaner.

      Never Clean Your Pool Again!
I have had my new Polaris for 3 seasons now. It is a marked improvement over the older units. The separate pump did the trick to keeping the pool clean. I have a lot of trees around my pool and the Polaris keeps the pool clean and clear of leaves and pine straw. Before I intalled this unit, which is simple to install, I had to manually clean my pool each month, now I enjoy my crstal clear pool with no manual cleaning. Steve

      Not bad for the money
I have a 18 X 32 IG Grecian style pool. I had a polaris 360 for about 3 years until it broke down. A friend recommended the 165 to me so I thought I would give it a try since its cheaper and see how it works. I have used it this whole season and it has done fairly well. The assembly was easy to do in less than 30 minutes. The only tool you need is a knife to cut the hose. The hose comes coiled up and tries to stay that way in the pool. So lay it strait on concrete in the hot sun for a day to ... read more help get the coil out of it. The 165 cleans fairly well. Not quite as efficient as the 360. It seems to want to get in the deep end and not get back out so you have to go outside and pull the cleaner to the area of the pool you want it to clean and hope it stays there. The bag gets about anything and the tail has jets that stir up silt to help the pool stay clean. Like all polaris cleaners of this type there is a little filter where the hose attaches to the wall that needs to be cleaned out once a week or so. If your cleaner looks sluggish that filter probably needs cleaning, which is quick and easy. Overall not as fast at cleaning as the 360, but cheaper and hopefully more reliable. My friend had his 165 for many years. If you dont mind babysitting it a little bit then you will probably be happy with the 165. Also with a flat bottom round type pool it would probably not need any babysitting at all.

Replacing Polaris 165 - Great cleaner
When we bought the house, a Polaris 165 came with the house. The Polaris 165 was over 10 years old and still worked! I used it for years until the kids broke it, so I'm replacing with the same thing. I trust Polaris, I know the 165 works in my in-ground vinyl pool, and it is a great value!

      Suprised
This product does everything is says it will do. I just received the 165 today and it has already clean my pool in less than 3hrs. I am really please with this product. Wish I would have ordered it sooner.

      Skeptical
I am wondering how long the average unit lasts. We purchased May 2008 and this year, it quit working. We have avg sized pool and take very good care of the unit (don't use it during winter, dismantle hose and store well). Very disappointed that it quit working at the end of this season (4th season). Disappointed that the replacement part needed is $ 289!! But, in defense this is the story on most repairs these days. Our KK kept our pool sparkling clean but got stuck on the ladder repeatedly. ... read more When we installed the leaf canister, it completely took care of this issue. $100 per year is not bad to spend considering the time saved by having the pool cleaned for us, but I like things to last longer than this. I will research other brands prior to replacing.

      Great Invention!
I use different models of Kreepy Krauly Automatic Inground Pool Cleaner for almost 20 years. It's a great invention and it works for my pool w/o real problems - just keeping pleasure for me, my girls and friends. It is my second replacement of the cleaner, and "In the Swim" did a good job helping me with that. Despite some Discover credit card problem (who was not able to recognize its own issued card), the "In the Swim" customer service was patient and helping in this process of card changing, ... read more making delivery prompt. More importantly, Kreepy Krauly Cleaner is working as wonderfully as I expected. Thank you!

      Great addition
I heard about this product from my son's neighbor and felt the price plus rebate was such a great deal that I should give it a try. I'd been thinking of getting an automatic cleaner for a couple of years, but the $1500 to $2000 figure given me by my local pool shop was unreasonable in my mind. I have been overwhelmed with the ability of this product to clean not only the floor, but the walls also in such a short period of time. I do recommend purchasing the skimmer basket attachment as it is ... read more absolutely necessary for catching the few leaves, pinestraw and other items that accumulate occasionally.

      great automatic pool cleaner
I just installed this cleaner in my pool and within 2 hours it had everything in the bottom picked up. The pool is crystal clear. It will sure save me a lot of time and seems like it will be worth the money. Hope it continues to keep the pool as clean as it is now.

      Awesome Pool Cleaner
This was the best purchase that we have made for our pool. Our previous cleaner did not operate correctly. It had been replaced 3 times. We finally had enough. I found this site by searching on google, and it was the best thing I could have ever done! I have given this site to my pool cleaner, and he has agreed to reccommend it to all of his clients for all of their pool needs.

      Love this little cleaing machine!
I bought this around the beginning summer of 2008. I had a hard time figuring out how to hook it up, so I let my hubby figure it out. Once he got it to working, I used it all the time. The only time I used my pool vacuum is when we first opened up the pool (I didn't have the Polaris then). After I received the Polaris, I never touched my vacuum again. I used the Polaris several times a week. We had several storms during the summer, and seemed to constantly have leaves all in the pool. The ... read more Polaris took care of that. If I had not had it, I know I would not have vacuumed my pool that much, and I would have had a mess, but Polaris kept my pool clean! Only once did I get algae, and that's when we went on vacation. When we came back, there was quite a bit of algae in the pool. I used the Polaris and used a broom brush and got rid of all the algae. I love my Polaris and look foward to summer now that I don't have to worry about cleaning the pool all the time, because I know all I have to do is throw in my Polaris!

      Great Purchase!!
I have an inground liner pool and an Aquabot T2 robotic cleaner. The Aquabot was continually getting stuck on the main drain. I read a previous review of an Aquabot user that said the unicover was a must. I now agree 100%!!!! The unicover totally solved my Aquabot hang up issue. The unicover doesn't fit tightly, but I found out that it really doesn't matter. It stays in place great. It only took me about 5 minutes to put the cover together and get it in place. The only issue that I had was ... read more finding the page of instructions that was in English. Great product for an Aquabot user!!!!

      drain cover
Bought this about 1 month ago. Wish I had purchased it long ago..the convenience of not having to stop and check that the vacuum isn't stuck on the bottom drain ...peace of mind. I would definitely recommend getting it.

works great with my dolphin dynamic
my dolphin dynamic does a great job... when it is not spinning round and round stuck on the bottom drain. when i saw this product, i had to give it a try. installs easily. only a few screws. then you sink it to the bottom and it just rests over/around your existing drain. i have the standard hayward anti-vortex drain. the unicover fits over it, but not snugly, there is about a half inch of room all the way around. which scared me at first. i thought the dolphin might push it off. but it did not. ... read more it works great. no more getting stuck!

Exactly what we needed at a good price
the pump came in a timely manner with all the necessary parts, was able to hook up directly from the box

      Simple, powerful and silent!
Did the set up job by myself, the pump works smooth as a dream. It's only one month but so far. ALL GOOD!!

      Great features
Had the 9400 before from previous home owners. Attempted a Hayward tigershark which was terrible before jumping back to the 9550. Worth every penny!

      Cleaner works great
I purchased the Polaris p9550 cleaner about 3 weeks ago. It works find. It removes about 95% of the dirt on bottom of pool. I use the remote to gee the other 5% that the cleaner missed. The only problem I have is it will not climb up my steps. Any body a Polaris Cleaner I recommend getting one with the remote control. also the cleaner removal feature is fantastic. I would recommend this cleaner for any body in the market for one.

Easy to setup and does a great job.
I have been debating to purchase a robotic cleaner for years.. Now, after 2 weeks, I am disappointed that I did not buy it years ago. I would not have a pool without it. Simple to operate and does a great cleaning job. I have vinyl, kidney shaped pool, with a 9-1/2 ft deep end. Now I just sit back and let the cleaner do its job. Well worth the money.
