    In-Ground Cleaners

Cleaniest my pool has ever been
I bought it about a month ago and was the best equipment I've ever had.

      Had for over five years
This is my second purchase and the only product to clean you pool. I have a 20x40 inground 30,000 gal pool that is over ten years old. I just bought my second Kreepy Krauly which I bout on this website. It cleans 8 hours a day from midnight to eight a.m. My pool has the best water in the area and there is nothing I have to do but empty the bag every two days. Each year I buy 4 new tires at $20 each. I changed the tail once and cost about $20.

      Not bad for the money
I have a 18 X 32 IG Grecian style pool. I had a polaris 360 for about 3 years until it broke down. A friend recommended the 165 to me so I thought I would give it a try since its cheaper and see how it works. I have used it this whole season and it has done fairly well. The assembly was easy to do in less than 30 minutes. The only tool you need is a knife to cut the hose. The hose comes coiled up and tries to stay that way in the pool. So lay it strait on concrete in the hot sun for a day to ... read more help get the coil out of it. The 165 cleans fairly well. Not quite as efficient as the 360. It seems to want to get in the deep end and not get back out so you have to go outside and pull the cleaner to the area of the pool you want it to clean and hope it stays there. The bag gets about anything and the tail has jets that stir up silt to help the pool stay clean. Like all polaris cleaners of this type there is a little filter where the hose attaches to the wall that needs to be cleaned out once a week or so. If your cleaner looks sluggish that filter probably needs cleaning, which is quick and easy. Overall not as fast at cleaning as the 360, but cheaper and hopefully more reliable. My friend had his 165 for many years. If you dont mind babysitting it a little bit then you will probably be happy with the 165. Also with a flat bottom round type pool it would probably not need any babysitting at all.

      Great Product
The pool cleaner allows more time to enjoy the pool instead of breaking my back cleaning it. Simple connection to the skimmer. I couldn't live withou it.

      Suprised
This product does everything is says it will do. I just received the 165 today and it has already clean my pool in less than 3hrs. I am really please with this product. Wish I would have ordered it sooner.

Hook it up, let it go, pool is clean, ho-ho-ho!
I've tried several types of auto cleaners, but this one actually works. My pool has never been so clear, and with zero effort! It doesn't climb the walls of my above- ground pool, but it keeps the floor so clean that it's easy to keep the chemicals in balance.

Climbs up to the shallow end
Aquanaut 400 arrived today. It climbs out of the deep end into the shallow end. (My 20 year old cleaner loitered in the deep end.) Climbs 45 degree walls but not the vertical walls. I will try the adjustments described in the owners manual. Over-all noise level high - my dog barks at it!

      Simple solution
I put my Hayward AquaNaut 400 to work when I opened the pool this Spring. It picked up everything from fine dirt particles to leaves and earthworms, and left the entire pool floor spotless. Setup was easy, and I found a useful video that demonstrated how to calibrate the unit by timing the wheel rotation speed. I also bought a Hayward leaf basket that attaches easily to the hose to keep the big chunks of debris away from the pump.

My Krepy Krawly kept getting stuck on my main drain but after installing this product It has never, I mean never, gotten stuck even once. I wish I had bought one years before. It's worth every penny you pay. After I ordered, The "In The Swim" company delivered it very, very quickly. It's almost like they had a store next door to me.

      drain cover
Bought this about 1 month ago. Wish I had purchased it long ago..the convenience of not having to stop and check that the vacuum isn't stuck on the bottom drain ...peace of mind. I would definitely recommend getting it.

      Real Problem Solver
The Polaris Unicover really does what it says! The pool cleaner is able to work without getting caught on the bottom drain cover. It takes the worry out of cleaning the pool.

      Parts when you need them.
I own a Polaris 380 and have used intheswim for many years now to purchase replacement parts. I have always gotten the parts very quick and they have always been genuine Polaris and have fit and got my unit back in the water. This is a very good company to work with when you need parts and chemicals in a hurry and at a good price.

      Great Purchase
This products works great! We've had several storms this season with high winds that has knocked tons of leaves and small limbs in our pool. We drop the Polaris in the pool and within a few hours the bottom is free from all debris. I love the fact that we recieved this product within a few days of ordering from In The Swim. And, the fact that Polaris shipped replacement hose nuts and we received them within 2 days. Great service from both In The Swim and Polairs.

      Daily function of unit.
Difficult to maintain. The screen constantly gets clogged with debris, thereby stopping the unit. Therefore, it must be cleaned at least twice a day, which creates problems when not at home.

This pool vac works pretty good for the price.
I have been using this vac and its earlier models since i put in the pool. This is #4. If you do not use a service, you will have to take ca re of some maint. yourself. It will deteriorate due to the pool chemistry over time. If you have steps and cranies it can get stuck. This wears out the pads that propel the vac. I recommend using the bumper. You will have to do a little fitting with a file to get it to fit flat to the bottom and not block the pods. Be carefull to not overtighten the screws ... read more as they can strip. The other parts can be replaced as needed.

      A very clever, easy-to-use design
My husband and I have been wanting an automatic pool cleaner for years, but couldn't afford the high cost of the 'Polaris" and similar electric-powered cleaners. Allan's brother told us about this one and we ordered it right away. It's absolutely great! Rather than having an electric motor to worry about, this unit plugs right into the skimmer like a manual vacuum and is hydraulically powered by the water moving through. It also has relatively few moving parts and all are fairly easily ... read more accessible. For our 20' x 40' pool, it takes move like 3.5 to 4 hours to complete a cleaning job, but is worth the wait. There's a single door in the back of the unit that one opens to clean out fhe innards - takes only seconds. I wish, though, that the door had a locking mechanism that did not require a screwdriver (Phillips at that), because we don't normally keep a toolkit in the pool area -- but this is a very minor complaint about an otherwise excellent product.

I have not opened my pool yet this year but I am confident my new pool vac will work fine. It will be the 3rd or 4th one I have had over the years.

NOT an UPgrade from Polaris 280
I had one of these installed when I built my pool in 1999. Struggled with breaking belts and constantly replacing the pressure relief valve on the side of pool for years. Finally decided to buy another 380 to see if maybe if would work better... When I went to pool store I said " I want another 380 " and the owner said " NO, you don't, and reccommended the Polaris 280...gear drive with no belts to break, said they had gone back to reccommending them." I was thrilled, I was familiar with the ... read more older model but had just assummed they weren't made anymore. I've had the Polaris 280 for 2 years now and only wish I had known they were still made years ago.....My sister had a gear drive Polaris for over 20 years and never had a problem....she sold that house so I don't know what the current owner is using of course....

      SECOND ONE
JUST UPGRADED TO THE 380 FROM THE 360, THIS IS MY SECOND POLARIS, THEY DO A GREAT JOB, EASY TO USE, AND HANDLE. IT WILL CLEAN THE WHOLE POOL- SIDES, STEPS, AND BOTTOM. THE ONLY WAY IT COULD BE ANY BETTER IS IF IT WOULD CRAWL OUT OF THE POOL AND CLEAN THE DECK.
    3. 1 decade ago
      Great product
The 380 is a great product. It cleans my pool in half the time of my old cleaner. I can turn it on and the pool is clean in 1 - 2 hours. It does get caught on the ladders but that does not happen often. This is a very useful cleaner and saves a lot of time and energy to keep the pool sparkling clean.

     5. Suction pool cleaners or robot cleaners are perfect for light desert debris.
