The Uni-Weld 9300 Series Clear Primer (9336S) is a professional-grade, aggressive solvent primer designed for use on all schedules and diameters of PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings. This clear formulation is specifically preferred for "finish work"--such as under cabinets or in visible residential plumbing--where the purple stain of standard primers would be unsightly.
It functions by both cleaning the pipe of surface contaminants (dirt, grease, and oil) and chemically softening the resin. This dual action ensures that when the solvent cement is applied, it can fuse the two surfaces into a single, permanent "solvent weld."
