    Stain Chemicals

      Excellent product
I have been using this product from in the swim for several years now and have absolutely no complaints! This shock is as good as any other I have ever used. It works great for spring opening ! I only need to use one bag in the spring to open my pool and then one bag approximately every week to maintain crystal clear water! Excellent Shock for the price!

      Good Only When Needed
I only use a 68% calcium chloride when opening my pool and after adding water when back washing my sand filter to keep the hardness in check. My local pool store sells bags of this for $0.99/lb. Works great as a shock but even after mixing and pouring in front of returns, the water remains cloudy. Muriatic acid brings the PH back in line and removes the cloudy look. The acid adds to the expense and its another chemical I don't like to store with young children. If you test your water regularly ... read more and keep everything balanced there is no need to use a shock. During the summer I only add 6% liquid chlorine that the local pool store sells for $0.99/gallon. Liquid chlorine will not cloud the water and has no other ingredients to upset my pools chemistry.

      Great Product
The Blue Stuff works great. Had yellow stains on the bottom in the deep end , used this as directed and by morning stains were gone.

      It works!
Jack's majic is a wonderful product line. From their step stuff to this blue stuff it removes stains, period. I have a 36,000 gallon pool and it cleans it like brand new. I love this blue stuff and highly recommend it!

It worked on my fiberglass pool!
So far so good, I get horrible mineral stains (probably copper) in my pool and have tried many products, some that involve "Sequestering the minerals" but it always seems to come back and often all at once in a big splotch. This product seems to have worked just fine, what a difference. Love my fiberglass pool, don't even need algaecide and very low chemical cost.. I think I found my stain remover of the future, if I ever need it again.

After getting my pool opened and cleaned up, the water was still a weird shade of green, even though it was clear. After some research, I suspected it was excess copper. This got rid of the copper in the water, and the pool is now crystal blue. It didn't get rid of the staining on the stairs, maybe another bottle will?

      Actually does what it claims.
I had staining on both our steps and the liner itself. I thought I probably was going to have to replace the liner. I purchased two bottles of "Stain Away", as a last resort. (I figured it was worth the gamble). Within two days, the steps and liner were free of all the rusty discoloration. I do not know where the staining came from, since we have city water. But if the problem ever re-occurs, I will try "Stain Away" first rather than last.

      It works
Stain Away has been helping to maintain my pool from stains for years with no complaints. In addition it also works well to remove any stains during the opening process. Works as discribed.

      Works pretty well
Had stains on my above ground pool liner that went around the whole pool and it came from winter closing, this season was the 2nd time it happened and they were now a lot darker. Had the pool for 4 years prior and no problem - tried the magic eraser - didn't work. Did as was instructed on the bottle and let it sit in the pool for 24 hours and the stains have virtually disappeared. I would say it got rid of 98% of the stains (all are lighter or gone). The only con I can see is it seems to be acid ... read more based so you need to lower the PH which could pose a problem on some pool components along with having almost no chlorine but for the short duration it probably isn't too much of a concern.

      Excellent product that works!
Love this stain remover. I have tried so many others, and this is the only one that I will ever buy. We have a fiberglass pool, and sometimes I can just sprinkle this on a stain and it disappears instantly. Usually, I just dilute it and the whole pool cleans up quickly.I highly recommend this product to anyone who just doesn't know which stain remover to use. Simply the best on the market.

      Worked for me!
This seems to have worked pretty well for me. Used it a couple of times over the past years. I refill my pool with our well water which has a lot of iron in it. I get stains on my pool bottom and sides. When used as directed on product, this removed nearly all of my stains on my 10 year old fiberglass pool. Package recommends use of metal remover after use of this product. Buy them both at the same time.

      Works when nothing else would.
If someone told me metal stains were such a problem, I might have thought twice about getting a pool. Seriously, I've got no time or patience for it, and even my pool guy can't figure out what's up. I was just about ready to throw in the towel when a friend recommended CuLator. It's a little pricey, but after the money already spent, what did I have to lose? THE STUFF WORKS. Don't know how, don't care, it just does. Couldn't be easier, just replace the cartridge once a month. Wish I had found this years ago.

      Works in toilets too
I actually dropped this in my toilet tank to decrease the rust staining in the toilet bowl. It worked really well. But you have to remove the rust stains in the bowl first. It doesn't remove the stains but the iron in your water

      Worked great !!
We bought this item in hopes to lower our copper levels. And to our surprise it has worked great leap . We put in the 4.0 Culater in the main pump drain, as well as a 1.0 in both our side drains. We had the water tested two days ago and are copper levels went from 0.2. To 0. For the past seven years I have always had high copper levels and now I don’t. I will always have these on hand there’s supposed to be good for 30 days I think

It's crystal clear which clarifier is the best
I spent less on clarifiers, but this one is worth it's weight in gold. It works like a gem (Sapphire). Water temperature and/or water ph doesn't seem to affect the workability of this product. Hands down the best clarifier.

      Good product
We started out using Metal Magic which did a fare job. Then we went to the Jacks Magic The Blue Stuff and it did great, pool was crystal clear, we really liked it. Last month I went to order more of The Jacks Magic The blue Stuff and ordered Jacks Magic The Sapphire and it has done a great job as well. We feel that both of the Jacks Magic products are top notch but on a personal level I prefer the Jacks Magic The Blue Stuff so I ordered two more quarts. Outstanding product

      For sure Magic stuff!
I bought this product because we have a lot of iron in our water and I did not realize the affects that has on a pool. I did not know the brand just picked it out. First of all it was priced well based on my search and it worked within a few days the difference was amazing. We converted to a salt water pool - above ground and with the use of this product our pool is the clearest it has ever been. About to re-order for maintenance use now. very pleased.

      This stuff is amazing
Our pool is near a lot of Japanese Maples and even with a leaf net, debri gets to in to the pool. Once the leaves were gone and net removed I cleaned the pool. But for the first time, the pool walls and bottom were a brownish, yellow color and brushing and shocking it would not remove it. At first I thoguth it was algea and tried an algecide. This did not work. I have used other stain removes from In the Swim but thought I would try this new product. I was amazed. Only hours after putting it in ... read more the water the stains are gone. The water is crystal clear for the first time in over a month. Great product!

      fastanstic
I thought I wrote a review, but after reading all of them I dont see mine. So here goes, 4 years ago I didnt cover my pool till December and stopped treating it in August (medical problems). All the leaves from all the trees and all the worms were sucked into the pool like a vacuum. When I opened my pool the following April I pulled out over 55 gallon barrell of wet leaves and worms and dead frogs and salamanders. my water looked and smelled like swamp water, you couldnt see more than a couple ... read more inches below surface. Turned on my DEL Ozone Eclipse 20 and used a total of 10 lbs of %73 calcium hypochlorite. Used a "frog log" in front of skimmer so the floating algea wouldnt clog it. I couldnt vacuum because the pump basket would get clogged with algea, it was really bad. Constantly using leaf net to get out all the stuff. I'm telling you this to let you know how bad my pool was. 6 days later my pool water was crystal clear, but you can imagine how badly stained my pool was. my pool is a light baby blue, no design - its fiberglass 14000 gallons which is all well water filled. the stains ranged from light brown (steps) to a darker brown (bottom). waited till my clhorine was 0, i did not add anything for ph, ta , or anything else yet. I always added the %73 cal hypo at night becuase didnt know what my CYA was. I poured some "A+ Stain Remover" on the steps and have a video of the stains disappearing right in front of your eyes. 2 bottles in and 24 hours later pool is crystal and gorgeous baby blue bottom, ALL ORGANIC STAINS ARE GONE. Filled autofeeder /w 3 inch tablets, corrected ph and ta, 1 cup algeacide once a week and my pool stayed gorgeous till I closed it in September. For some reason i am still gettinf leaves and worms in my pool when covered so I still get brown stains but they are barely visible, My wife cant see them. Why there are reviews that say it doesnt work I dont know, but I have given you all the information about my pool and how bad it was and this stuff works, at least on organic stains - leaves, worms and dead frogs and salamders.

      Unbelievable
I tried 3 different stain removers none worked. My stains were a light brown and spreading. Couldn’t understand it, chemicals were in balance. Then I bought A+ stain remover got the bromine down put in a full bottle and the next morning got up to check it out and the stains were almost gone so I put in another half bottle after I swept the sides, the next morning all the stains were gone. Well worth the money, I thought I was stuck with these stains forever. Thank you

      Miracle pill
Great product it does a lot and you do not need any other products but company needs to do something about shipping and or handling it is really ridiculous

      Fantastic
Bought this 7 weeks ago and has made the pool sparkling clear and easy to manage. I still vacuum the pool every week but have not had to add chemicals at all. Love this

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Stain Chemicals

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

Stain & Scale Control in Pools

Pool stain chemicals are an integral part of keeping your pool looking clean, new and inviting. Keeping your pool water balanced and keeping a clean pool sometimes are not enough. In addition to our In The Swim stain chemicals, we also carry Aqua Pills, Jack's Magic, Natural Chemistry, and Sea-Klear pool stain chemicals. There are two types of pool stain chemicals - stain removers and stain preventers, and some that do a little of both.

    Pool Stain Removers

With balanced chemistry and a clean pool, stain removers are sprinkled over the surface to lift pool stains. For general purpose organic stains, try E-Z stain remover and for metallic stains try A Plus stain remover. You can also make a Stain Sock by pouring one of our stain removers, or pH Decreaser into a thin sock or hosiery, tied off tightly. Place directly over the stain, moving the location every few minutes, in the pool or with your pool brush. Finally a use for those orphan socks!

    Pool Stain Preventers

Commonly called Stain & Scale chemicals, this group of pool stain chemicals is used to keep minerals and metals dissolved in solution. Known in the trade as sequestering agents, they chemically lock-up metals and minerals, so they cannot come out of solution to stain your pool surfaces. Pool stain prevention chemicals include products like Super Stain Away and SeaKlear Metal Klear. Use weekly to prevent pool stains from iron, calcium and copper, by keeping these metals and minerals safely dissolved.

    Pool Metal Removers

Sequestering agents don't actually remove metals from the water, they simply keep them dissolved in solution, as long as you add regular maintenance doses. However, major chemical movements or poor water chemistry can force metals and minerals out of solution, where they can stain or cloud the pool water. In such cases, an effective DE or Cartridge filter can remove suspended minerals and metals. One chemical however, CuLator Metal Eliminator and Stain Preventer actually REMOVES metals from your pool water. Place the packet in the cage and drop it in your skimmer basket - absorbs copper, iron, manganese, nickel and cobalt ions.
