    Stain Chemicals

      Not quite there
We used this product in our 20 x 40 i ground pool but it only took out about 60 or 70% of the stains. Perhaps I didn’t mix it enough but I’m pretty sure we had the PH & Chrorine at the right levels for putting this cleaner in. We’re probably going to give it another try...

      E-Z Stain Remover
I purchased this product after doing a bit of research to find a product that indicated it would remove the stain on my pool liner. I had my doubts. I followed the directions to the letter to ensure E-Z Stain would had a chance to work. To my surprise after I cleaned the pool a couple of says after application the stains that had been in the pool for 3 years were gone. Excellent product.

I live in Southeast Texas and in fortunatel got Flood waters in my house and in my pool. It was so dirty couldn't see bottom. After cleaning pool out best I could the walls and bottom had turned green. After about $150 worth of chemicals and a lot of time tried EZ stain remover. After getting the pH of the water correct added this product and to my amazement my pool is now green free nice and clean.

      Amazing Results
We have iron in our well water that caused lots of staining in the pool, on the liner, in the skimmer, on the steps; Super Stain Away removed these right before my eyes! I had used several metal removers over the past 2 years, but, none of them helped to remove the old stains like this product. I turned off the pump and poured a portion into the skimmer (it was stained the worse) allowed it to set for a few minutes and the stains totally disappeared! This was really amazing since we usually had ... read more to go through ascorbic acid treatments to get anywhere near this much stain removed. After the water circulated for about 30 mins, the stains on the liner were going away too. This is so simple to use. Thanks so much Intheswim, I can always count on your products.

      Amazing Customer Service
We ordered this product with some chlorine and shock. We received the chlorine and shock but also received a Magic Jack Tile stain gel instead of this Super Stain product. Called 800 number and explained what happened. As it turns out, they didn't recognize the product we received. Took a picture and emailed it while on the phone. They couldn't find it in their system. So, they sent us the correct product and we kept the wrong product also. I'm sure we can find a use for it. Can't say we've ... read more used this bottle of Super Stain yet, but in the past it has been perfect for our well water and I expect it will be again.

      It works
Stain Away has been helping to maintain my pool from stains for years with no complaints. In addition it also works well to remove any stains during the opening process. Works as discribed.

      great product
I have been searching for a product that is easy to use to remove the light brown stains that creep up the sides of my fiberglass pool. this is the most effective method that does not wipe out my chlorine. It is definitely worth a try.

      Actually does what it claims.
I had staining on both our steps and the liner itself. I thought I probably was going to have to replace the liner. I purchased two bottles of "Stain Away", as a last resort. (I figured it was worth the gamble). Within two days, the steps and liner were free of all the rusty discoloration. I do not know where the staining came from, since we have city water. But if the problem ever re-occurs, I will try "Stain Away" first rather than last.

      Best money spent ever
This is by far the best clarifier on the market. i have used several others offered here and this one is worth the extra $ it lasts 2 weeks or more in the summer heat. AWESOME! Just buy it!!

      For sure Magic stuff!
I bought this product because we have a lot of iron in our water and I did not realize the affects that has on a pool. I did not know the brand just picked it out. First of all it was priced well based on my search and it worked within a few days the difference was amazing. We converted to a salt water pool - above ground and with the use of this product our pool is the clearest it has ever been. About to re-order for maintenance use now. very pleased.

It's crystal clear which clarifier is the best
I spent less on clarifiers, but this one is worth it's weight in gold. It works like a gem (Sapphire). Water temperature and/or water ph doesn't seem to affect the workability of this product. Hands down the best clarifier.

      CuLators are great!
CuLators are a terrific product. I have well water and since I've started using them my pool's metal count has stayed down and hardly any stains.

      Worked as described! Great product.
I bought this a few weeks ago based on the great reviews. We have well water and extremely high levels of iron in our water. I've had it in the pool two weeks now so I won't know how good it is for a couple of weeks yet when I test the water again, but the bag has turned a deep brown and I am assuming it is really working.

It worked on my fiberglass pool!
So far so good, I get horrible mineral stains (probably copper) in my pool and have tried many products, some that involve "Sequestering the minerals" but it always seems to come back and often all at once in a big splotch. This product seems to have worked just fine, what a difference. Love my fiberglass pool, don't even need algaecide and very low chemical cost.. I think I found my stain remover of the future, if I ever need it again.

Battled fiberglass pool wall mineral stains.....
Tried Culators, Metal Free, ITS Stain Free, Stain Away powders, etc. then saw a Jacks Blue Magic customer post of similar returning *severe rust-colored* wall stains after few days, mine when chlorination for years and on well water in fiberglass pool. Locals and Internet instructed full pool water drain at $1400 too expensive. So after 2.5 bottles of Jacks Blue magic & BULK citric acid powder combo water & walls clear. Regular treatments of Jacks Blue Magic and light chlorination with ... read more chlorine tabs seem to be effective and persist for a couple weeks now, hope it continues. Be careful fiberglass pool owners use only algaecide 60 plus (no copper), avoid RV antifreeze for line winterization (use legitimate pool antifreeze) due to chemical residue buildup that causes high chlorine consumption and manufacturer says will not subside concentration, and any other copper/mineral products. Will continue to use Jacks Blue Magic as it is only product along with bulk citric acid that has longer lasting stain removal...so far. Citric acid is active ingredient in most anti-stain cleaning powders. Trying small amounts of liquid chlorine now only when needed, hope it doesn't cause re-staining.

      Works, but only
where water is drained and it is applied to the pool surface full strength. Dropped water below steps, cleaned them great. However it did not get the stains from the bottom of pool.

      Best Stain Remover!
My vinyl pool liner in my advice ground pool had become badly strained over the winter. No amount of scrubbing or balancing chemicals seemed to help lighten or remove the stain. I used this product exactly as directed and within the first minute the stain started to disappear. In as little as 30 minutes the stain was almost completely gone! No scrubbing necessary! Best product ever, and completely worth the money!

      Miracle product
I was extremely skeptical of this product but I had really ugly stains on the bottom of my fiberglass in the ground pool. Really in the scheme of things 88 dollars is a small price to pay for the removal of those ugly stains. My pool is 12,000 gallons , so it took 2 jars of A-1 stain remover. I put the first on in and left it over night. The stain was very light but still visible, so I put in the other jar and let it do it's thing over night. The next day the water was very cloudy and you could ... read more not see the bottom. The next morning the water was clear and every stain in my pool was GONE. The pool now look's brand new. This stuff work's great !!!! You will not be disappointed.. You will probably need a chlorine neutralizer to get your chlorine level down to 0,3 but after the level is down, the product work's GREAT !!!!

Best product I’ve ever purchased for our pool!
We got some yellow staining in our pool. Our local pool store told us to shock our pool as a first step. That didn’t work, we then brought in a sample every few days over the course of a month. They had me try using a chlorine tab and rubbing it on the staining (which was difficult since it was at the bottom of the deep end). They said if it rubbed away with that it would be organic staining, that didn’t work. So then I bought some very expensive metal remover and sparkle up for after for the ... read more filter. That didn’t work. Then they had me try an Algaecide remover. More $$. That didn’t work. I started googling and came across the A+ stain remover bought two bottles and the next day it was gone! So happy with this product.

      Works in toilets too
I actually dropped this in my toilet tank to decrease the rust staining in the toilet bowl. It worked really well. But you have to remove the rust stains in the bowl first. It doesn't remove the stains but the iron in your water

      Works when nothing else would.
If someone told me metal stains were such a problem, I might have thought twice about getting a pool. Seriously, I've got no time or patience for it, and even my pool guy can't figure out what's up. I was just about ready to throw in the towel when a friend recommended CuLator. It's a little pricey, but after the money already spent, what did I have to lose? THE STUFF WORKS. Don't know how, don't care, it just does. Couldn't be easier, just replace the cartridge once a month. Wish I had found this years ago.

      It worked!
I had iron stains on my pool liner from using well water. My first attempt to get rid of the stains worked but then they came back in a couple days. My second attempt included using the CULator and the stains did not come back! I am so relieved to be done with that problem.

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Stain Chemicals

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

Stain & Scale Control in Pools

Pool stain chemicals are an integral part of keeping your pool looking clean, new and inviting. Keeping your pool water balanced and keeping a clean pool sometimes are not enough. In addition to our In The Swim stain chemicals, we also carry Aqua Pills, Jack's Magic, Natural Chemistry, and Sea-Klear pool stain chemicals. There are two types of pool stain chemicals - stain removers and stain preventers, and some that do a little of both.

    Pool Stain Removers

With balanced chemistry and a clean pool, stain removers are sprinkled over the surface to lift pool stains. For general purpose organic stains, try E-Z stain remover and for metallic stains try A Plus stain remover. You can also make a Stain Sock by pouring one of our stain removers, or pH Decreaser into a thin sock or hosiery, tied off tightly. Place directly over the stain, moving the location every few minutes, in the pool or with your pool brush. Finally a use for those orphan socks!

    Pool Stain Preventers

Commonly called Stain & Scale chemicals, this group of pool stain chemicals is used to keep minerals and metals dissolved in solution. Known in the trade as sequestering agents, they chemically lock-up metals and minerals, so they cannot come out of solution to stain your pool surfaces. Pool stain prevention chemicals include products like Super Stain Away and SeaKlear Metal Klear. Use weekly to prevent pool stains from iron, calcium and copper, by keeping these metals and minerals safely dissolved.

    Pool Metal Removers

Sequestering agents don't actually remove metals from the water, they simply keep them dissolved in solution, as long as you add regular maintenance doses. However, major chemical movements or poor water chemistry can force metals and minerals out of solution, where they can stain or cloud the pool water. In such cases, an effective DE or Cartridge filter can remove suspended minerals and metals. One chemical however, CuLator Metal Eliminator and Stain Preventer actually REMOVES metals from your pool water. Place the packet in the cage and drop it in your skimmer basket - absorbs copper, iron, manganese, nickel and cobalt ions.
