    Hand Rails

    1. 9 years ago
      Good quality product.
To install this product yourself you need a hammer drill and a two inch drill bit. You could probably get by with a heavy duty power drill and a carbide two inch drill which will cost at least $60.00. Do not buy the anchors, just drill down 4 inches, insert rail and seal with a lot of anchor cement.

      Money well spent!
I've gone for several years without a hand rail to assist in entering or exiting the pool. This year, I purchased the stair rail from In the Swim...best thing I've done for my pool guests! Not only is it attractive...but functional as well. Plus, there's added safety in getting in and out of the pool. If you don't have a hand rail...buy this one...NOW!!!

I Bought this a couple weeks ago and am so Happy we did, It sure helps getting in and out of the Pool a lot easier. Our son in law drilled in the cement and put the plates on then had a 4 inch pipe that fit into the rail and that way we can take rail off to put solar cover on and even store the rail inside for winter months Now I want to order the cover that fits over the rail so it don't get too hot to the touch getting in and out of pool. I recommend this type 100%.

Was the perfect answer for out pool steps. Low enough for the kiddies and high enough for the adults.

      Not sure
Well. With not getting all of the parts we can't install the handle. It appears to be well made . However , having to order, send back , get a second product again without the parts needed , we have given up . It's waiting to go back. Thanks In The Swim for sending UPS to pick up again. Sorry this didn't work out !

      Great Product
This is my second set of Koolgrips. They make it much easier to get in and out of the pool in California where the metal hand rails get so hot. They look and feel great.

      Great Product
The Kool Grip for my pool handrail I purchased from In The Swim is a great product as where I live in SC is really hot in the summer and the Koop Grip allows swimmers protection from the hot sun when touching the handrail getting in and out of the my pool. I have purchased Koop Grips from In The Swim before and they are quality products that lasts for years if you take them inside during the winters.?

      Good Product
We have a lot of elderly people and small kids using our pool and the grips really help them get into and out of the pool. I highly recommend a UV spray to keep them from fading and from losing elasticity. The spray is also somewhat tacky, which helps the overall grip. During the off-season, I remove them from the ladders, dry them completely, dust them with corn starch and store them in a plastic bag in a controlled air environment (like your house for example, not outside). The rubber backing ... read more does deteriorate after 2-3 seasons and if stored without corn starch will stick together causing the backing to rip apart. With proper care, they are well worth the cost.

Good product, but needs some instructions.
I bought this product 2 weeks ago, then ordered 2 bronze mounts. On their arrival, I studied the issue, then dug out 2 of the brick pavers comprising the apron around my pool and installed the mounts in concrete, with several Rebar rods each. After the concrete dried and I inserted the Grab Rail, the result was quite satisfactory, with adequate stability to support my non-trivial weight. It would have been nice for you to have included precise instructions on installation.

More About Pool Hand Rails and Grab Rails

Pool handrails give you the option to update your pool’s look relatively easily and without investing a lot of money. By installing new designer handrails, your pool stair rails can take on a fresh new look while adding a measure of safety. We offer finely polished stainless steel pool rails from Inter-Fab and SR Smith, and tough as nails polymer pool rails from Saftron, available in six colors to match your backyard tones.

In the Swim has pool handrails that range from basic such as the 3 bend stair rail to the classic design of the cross braced pool stair rail and the artful Inter-Fab designer stair rail. Stair rails are used on shallow end pool stairs or entry steps, and grab rails are used with recessed wall steps, in deeper parts of the pool.

In The Swim has a large selection of handrails for in-ground pools, all made in standard 1.9" diameter tubing to fit standard deck anchors, set 8" apart. Accessories for handrails, such as deck anchor parts or escutcheon plates, can be found on our handrail accessories page.

If you have any questions about our pool and spa handrail and grab rail options, call or email In The Swim’s pool professionals. They are always available to help!
