    Above-Ground Steps & Ladders

    1. 3 years ago
      Priced right
I'm very happy with it I filled the bottom step with concrete. instead of screwing the handles to the steps and to the brackets I used a square pin lock which is a form of a cotter pin that way it was easy to dismantle and put back together.

      A Huge Difference
I bought this ladder to replace the standard gray one that came with my out of ground pool. The original ladder looked cheap and tacky. Since my out of ground pool is sunk into a large deck with planters and palm shrubs the new ladder adds a definite "in ground" appearance. The ladder also provides easy and safe access to the pool and is very sturdy. I also found that by not inserting the screws into the base mounting I can easily lift the ladder out to allow the pool cleaner to do its work ... read more effectively. The ladder is a well designed and good product and I would not hesitate to recommend it to any one who wants to improve the look and the access to their pool.

      okay ladder
Not sure why but this ladder does not rest flat on the floor of the pool..... the back of the bottom step is on the floor and the front is off the floor. For some reason this year i am having trouble with algae growing inside the back openings of the ladder and on any highly textured areas of the steps.... odd... b/c i'm not having an algae problem in the pool. I didn't have this problem last year. Today i ended up taking the ladder out of the pool and laying on the ground and putting a mix of ... read more bleach and water in all the little slots, let it sit for the afternoon, went back out and hosed it out and it was clean. wish i just went with the cheaper ladder..... i liked the ladder i originally had to replace.... solid steps with little holes to fill the step and it sat flat against the floor of the pool.

      Sturdy easy to assemble
The ladder does not float like other ladders I had before this one. It sank once it was filled with water.

      Excellent product
We bought this ladder and am very satisfied with the product. It is more stable than the original ladder we got with our pool.

We bought this just a couple weeks ago. The set up part had its issues. We couldn't figure out where all the screws they sent us went. We found several of them to be too short in several places. Luckily I keep a jar of extras we could pull from. The ladder itself is very sturdy once put together. We really appreciate the roll down part to help deter unwanted swimmers. It slides up and down fairly easily. Would I buy this again? Yes probably. Would I recommend a better instruction sheet ... read more be created to show where the short screws are supposed to fit? Yes I would.

      Nice steps
Good sturdy steps and hand rails! Took a while to get sand in, but went fine. Once steps are in pool they will float so you just need to unplug sand holes to let air out. Once we got all the air out they stayed in place! No need for any other weight. I'm very happy with my new steps!

      Great Steps
I am a 68 year old man and somewhat overweight. I was having trouble getting in and out of my pool because the steps I had were so narrow. I saw these steps and thought I would give them a try. They were a bit hard to get together at first but once I got the hang of it, it went very quickly. Made a funnel out of a paper plate and the sand went in easily. Once you get them into the water they are very sturdy. I have no trouble using them. I am going to purchase another set for the other end of my pool.

      ladder conversion kit
The new conversion kit was much heavier and more durable than the other pieces that were on the latter. I'm very well pleased with them and the shipping time was very short

      Did the job nicely
Although I think that $40 + shipping was a bit much for 4 pieces of plastic. It was exactly what I need to convert the step portion of my old ladder into a usable step into the pool of the deck. I guess nothing is cheap anymore

      Affordable and fast shipping
Box was damaged when it arrived but ladder was fine. Easy to put together and install. Make sure to buy the flanges in addition to the ladder. Best price I found and received it less than a week after ordering.
    2. 5 years ago
Deck flanges are a seperate item!!
Be sure to order your deck flanges along with this item. Holes in plastic steps may need trimmed for the pipe to slide through easily. Overall looks like a good product. In The Swim shipping our deck flanges in a couple days. Will update review when they arrive.

      Looks great
Bought this two weeks ago, easy to assemble, looks great in the pool, too bad the weather isn’t as good, haven’t had an opportunity to get in the pool.

      Great Ladder
It was so easy to put together. I also bought the stabilizer bar and there is no movement when climbing up and down the ladder.

Looking for a good ladder found one. Frame is strong and easy to assemble. And it comes with a 5 year warranty how can you beat the.

      Easier to handle
Bought this to replace the roll slide ladder that broke. This ladder is our 3rd ladder and this by far is the best of the 3 we have purchased. This ladder does Not float!! You don't need to fill the ladder with water. It is adjustable and is solid once in place. Love the handle features because we put our pool noodles through the spaces at the top of the steps. very sturdy. The side pull out tab feature Is easy to use when pulling steps up in a position when pool is not in use and can be locked ... read more with a simple padlock if desired .

      Great ladder
I'm very happy with my new ladder it's very sturdy and safe the only issue that I have is that the ladder is straight up and down instead of having a slant to it but I do like the ladder and I feel like it is very safe for my family and it won't rust or leave paint chips in my pool
    1. 9 years ago
      excellent for safety and ease
I have had these steps / ladder for 8+ years...NO rust or weak steps...Comes spotlessly clean with hose or powerwasher...The security of ease of entry and exiting of pool is 2nd to none...There is no way to have entrapment when in the pool...This may cost more initially but the durability and comfort are worth it and in the long run very cost effective...Extra bonus that the gate locks - very important for insurance purposes....

      Granny tested
I built them in one day. I needed a friend to help lift the one half into the pool. They were a little heavy to adjust the height once I got them in the pool. There was a learning curve about getting them good and level, so that the two staircases can be attached with good stability. The "non-entrapment step facing" and "the skids" on the bottom of both sides should be installed outside of the pool, and secured with a little tape until you have the steps installed well. Once the stairs are in ... read more you will not be able to adjust the liner, so be completely ready to place the steps where you want them. Mom/Granny went swimming today and did great. She was fully in control all the way into the pool and all the way out to the sidewalk.

Very sturdy stairs, complete with security gate
I purchased these stairs so that my father and my aunt could more easily get into the pool with their disabilities. Plus, these stairs look way nice and come with a security gate that you can lock as an extra effort to keep children out of the pool unattended.

More About Above Ground Pool Steps & Above Ground Pool Ladders

Above ground pool steps and ladders are important pool equipment for the safety of pool users and pets. In The Swim offers a variety of steps and ladders for every above ground pool owner’s budget, whether or not your pool has a full or partial pool deck

For above ground pools without a deck, a two-sided ladder like the Roll Guard A-frame safety ladder and the Evolution A-frame safety ladder are useful necessities. Take a 'step-up' in quality and size with two-sided pool step systems that feature an outside safety gate such as the Deluxe Entry System or the Combo Step Entry System that combines wide and sturdy stairs outside the pool, and a thick yet unobtrusive ladder inside the pool. Double sided pool A-frame ladders are weighted with sand or pebbles, to sit solidly on the pool floor and stay firmly in place.

For above ground pools with a deck, you can use the single pool ladder or the wider and safer pool steps, connected to your pool deck. For above ground pool ladders, look at the Heavy Duty In-Pool Ladder, or the 5-Step Stainless Steel pool ladders. Above ground pool steps are selected from 4 models, including the popular Staircase Steps and the elegant Curve Step System. Weighted pool steps connect to your pool deck and make a stable way for kids and adults to enter and exit the pool safely. Pool steps or stairs also make a great place to sit in the pool!

Vinyl Works and Confer above ground pool ladders and steps are made from roto-molded thermoplastics, designed to be easily assembled and quickly installed, with all parts and complete instructions included. The most cost-efficient models include the single pool ladder that attaches to your pool deck or a double sided pool ladder for above ground pools without a deck. The more expensive models include locking safety gates, wide and deep treads and platform, solid handrails, and weight ratings of up to 300 lbs. Using a ladder pad or step pad is recommended to protect your pool liner.
