      I love this thing!
If you have an issue with leaves or other large debris getting into your pool, this thing is the ticket! I accidentally dropped the edge of my winter cover into the pool last year when removing the cover. This resulted in a large amount of leaves being dumped into the bottom of my pool. Ugh! After about 10 passes with my Pool Rover, and barely any leaves removed, I decided to give this a try. It's much quicker and easier than using a net and will pick up a suprising amount of large gunk from the ... read more bottom of your pool. The only downside? If you have fine silt or dirt in your pool, it just flows through the mesh bag and gets stirred around. But this is really made for the big stuff like leaves, sticks, berries, etc. This has become a part of my spring pool clean-up permanently. It's awesome!

      Can't Get 2 Bottom
This did not come with instructions so I'm not sure if it's something I've done or not done, but this thing refuses to go to the bottom of my pool. What am I doing wrong?? My arms are aching from trying to maneuver it to the bottom for about 20 minutes, then finally gave up. This is my first pool and I'm learning everything on my own from the internet, videos and instructions, and the whole ordeal is turning a dream of owning a pool into a lesson in frustration. Help!

A few little gulps and leaves are gone!
We purchased this, but did not use it the first year....that has not happened since!!!!!! .We live in the country with huge old trees surrounding us....depending on when we close the pool in the fall, we sometimes have quite a few leaves around the bottom drain of our inground pool when we open it in the Spring. You hook the hose up to this thing, and the pressure from the water of the hose forces those leaves up into the bag in not time! This is one of our most favorite pool "gotta haves!!".. ... read more it makes opening the pool so much easier!

      Exactly as advertised
Used this pump to remove the water from our 20' x 40' in-ground pool in Michigan. Pump worked very well and ran continuously for over 6 hours with no problem. We used a garden hose so it took quite a while to pump all the water off. The shield on the bottom did a nice job from keeping leaves and debris from clogging the intake.

      Works great!
Our in-ground pool came with our house when we bought it last year. After struggling with the sagging cover due to water weight this past Spring, we bought this pump this fall and it's worked great from Day 1 (and just in time for the heavy rains we had here in Michigan). It had good reviews and I understand why. We put a longer hose on it and it still pumps out the water without any issues. The orange cover around the base of the pump is good at catching leaves and debris as well. We plan ... read more on using it on our spa as well. Now I wonder why we waited so long to buy this! Well worth the money so far.

I bought this a month and have used it twice, so far I am very happy with. I like side connection for the hose, my last pump connected on the top and did not work very well.

      The best pool cover pump.
This is my 4-th pump and this is the very best one. Thanks for the pump and the fast service. Gary

      Great pump
Great pump. Great service with In The Sim as always

      Best cover pump made!
I have a automatic in ground pool cover that is permanent. Therefore you need a cover pump on all year. Without any doubt off all the different pumps I have tried this little thing is the best. The weight is perfect and the water gets down to 0. The one I am using now I have had for 4 years and no issues. Yes I leave it on all winter in the Northeast. Just wanted to offer some advice if your on the fence. Spend the money up front, throw this thing on your cover and worry about something else.

      Wonderful
Decided to write a review after reading some negative ones. I have purchased 3 of these. I use for my pool, removing water from my hot tub, and other household jobs. Found out it is better not to store in the pool house next to harsh chemicals, but no problem, when the pump stops working, I just dip the hose in some rum and provide a quick suction....the way my dad started hoses in the old days. Great product.

      Love it!
After tiring of lugging an electric pump to drain the excess water on the pool cover and having to babysit it the whole time, I was delighted to see this gizmo in the catalog. We’ve used this 3 times so far this fall and have been extremely pleased with its operation. Once you get the water flowing, you can go about your business and check on it later. As others have mentioned, the instructions were sketchy, just be sure to turn the little knob on the top of the squeeze bulb to the “on” position ... read more and be sure the squeeze bulb is tightened onto the hose. Love this and hope it is durable. Thanks!

      Not Bad for the Price
I've had one of these for at least six years. I made the mistake of leaving it outside this summer and the plastic broke where the tubing connects, so I ordered another one. The siphon pump is a frustration, but if you know how to get a siphon started, it can get almost every drop of water off the cover. Use it after closing but before freezing. In the spring, use it and with a few dry days the winter cover will only have a few leaves left before you remove it.

      Wonderful Pool
This is the third year I have used your winterization kit and rather then opening my pool, like my friends with pools, to a green slime alge mess my pool was clear with minor debris on bottom. The kit did a wonderful job with minimum expense. Took hours rather then days to have a swimable pool!

Easy to use and clear water in the spring!
We have used this winterizing kit for several years now. It is so easy to winterize the pool with this kit, and the price is definitely cheaper than the kits from Leslie's. Every spring when we open the pool, the water is crystal clear and ready to go for the summer. This kit is a winterizing must!

      6 Years of use.
This is what I've been using every year for the last 6 years when putting the winter cover on my pool, and there has only been 1 year that the pool wasn't clear water when I took the cover off and that was just because of a small tear in the cover that I didn't notice until I was taking the cover off the pool.

      Easy Enough
Just purchased these this year so I don't know if they work or not yet. The were very easy to install the only problem I see is that there is no holes in the top to allow you to blow out the lines this make it a little more difficult. But other than that I think they were okay.

      Great Purchase
It was great to put into the skimmer while closing up for the season and not having to worry about it freezing and cracking.

Saved me from lowering water level.
I bought this to prevent me from having to lower my water level below the skimmer because my water delivery guy told me that because of the gas prices water delivery price was going to increase. I used this and it worked great it has already paid for itself 50x.

      Great Product
I installed this item on my cover and after a 24 hour rain, my cover was basically dry. The leaves haven't really begun to fall yet, but it appears that with the drain keeping the cover dry, the leaves will blow away and/or dry out and blow away. I've messed around with other cover drain solutions without much luck. I don't like the idea of an electric system that has to be plugged in all winter long, plus they tend to be too heavy. Other siphon type drains seem to become plugged up and really ... read more don't do the job. This is the only system that I have actually found to work. I also had the opportunity to deal with the company that makes this item, and they were very professional.

      Marriaged saved
Wow...saved my marriage! My wife was done with siphoning the nasty water off the cover by mouth. Figured she was gonna leave me this winter over it. I decided that 100 bucks was worth the gamble to get here to stay and it is worth every penny. Installed it while she cooked Sunday breakfast and it has worked perfect since! Pool drained and marriage saved! Thanks! Stephen

      So so
This is a good concept, however it's a one size fits all which makes it difficult to drape the hose flat like the video. This causes the grain not to lay flat on the pool and cover, one end sits up. The hose is to long for an 18' round pool. I email several times to Dryco and asked about this issue and possibly cutting the hose shorter. But no response. None at all. Customer service is horrible in my opinion. How can you make a product and not answer questions about it. In the video is showers ... read more the hose going straight down lay on pool floor then up to return. In the picture it showes hose going straight across from drain to return. Which I think it would work better.

      InTheSwim Instructions Almost Always Lacking
Guys, you've GOT to get it together on your opening and closing instructions. The closing instructions shown on the website page above these comments tell us to add Pool Magic first, Phosphate Remover second, Shock third. Your printed instructions with the kit say to add Shock first, WAIT a half-hour, and then add Pool Magic and the Phosphate Remover. Your online directions tell us to lower the pool level BEFORE adding anything. Anyone who does will soon realize that the pump STILL needs to be ... read more running for all of the chemicals, so lowering the water would have been a big mistake. The product is great and I really enjoy purchasing from your company, but I can't understand why you can't be clearer in these situations.

      Straight Forward
Works as advertised and I have been using these for years. I find the sponge particularly worthless, but whatever, it comes with the kit.

Easiest Closing Kit I've Ever Used
We have been closing our own pool for several years now and usually buy our chemicals separately. This is the first year we have used any In The Swim kits and could not be more pleased. What an easy way to get everything we need to close our pool, turning what can often be a pain in the neck, into a simple process and buying it as a kit from In The Swim saved us quite a bit of money as well! Thanks!
