      Loving it!
I purchased the unit from In The Swim, it was recommended by their staff. It arrived in 3 days just in time to install for the weekend. It took 4 hour to remove the old furnace and install the new one with only one trip to the hardware store. None of the old gas or water lines matched up and the old furnace did not have electric. After installation there were no leaks on the first try ++ The programming took only seconds to set the temperature - very easy ++ The unit is located in a shed, but ... read more puts out very little heat in the room, compared to the old furnace. Wow is it Fast for warming up the pool ++ It looks beautiful and runs quiet We are absolutely loving it!!

Great heater; understand warranty if self install
My old RayPak RP2100 335 in my garage lasted about 18 years before rusting out. I really liked that heater and the simple yet reliable controls on it. I bought the 336 model which is basically an updated version of that heater. It was delivered on a truck with free lift gate service to my garage, and tilt indicators showing no problem while shipping. That was great! The plate for the indoor vent on this heater is a little larger than on that older model so I had to order the one specific to ... read more this heater, but other than needing another inch of gas piping to reach the gas valve inside, and redoing the water piping so I could add heater bypass valves, it was basically a drop-in replacement. One thing to note: The heat exchanger on the new heater had a tiny leak between the tube plate and one of the tubes out of the box. It was definitely leaking from the tube plate inside the firebox, and not from the capron header gaskets. I called RayPak to exchange it on warranty but was told since I wasn't an authorized installer, I had to contact one for them to come out and look over the heater to determine if it was a warranty issue and, if it was, return through them. Also, since not installed by an authorized installer, warranty is cut to 90 days. The local authorized folks wanted $130/hr. to take a look (they'd also wanted almost 2.3x the cost of the heater from InTheSwim for the heater and install if I'd purchased it through them - no thanks!). After a little online research I realized that the RayPak heat exchanger tube plate to tube joints are just roll fitted and not welded, which is the weakest type of way to build this kind of joint. I decided instead to seal the tube/tube-plate junction behind the capron headers with epoxy on all tubes, both sides. That fixed the leak. Who knows, if these weak joints are a major cause of heat exchangers leaking and leading to subsequent rust out of the unit, I may get even more than 18 years out of this one. If not, I can buy another one for less than what the authorized installer wanted for putting in just one.

Easy to Install, well built, a great value
25K gallon pool. I added this heater after a solar panel failure. Since the season is so short in Chicagoland and I needed back up to solar heat anyway, I bought and installed this. Shipped free. Outstanding and fast Technical support from the factory. With natgas so cheap it's a nice way to go. I spent 4 hours running the electricity before I realized it's a thermocouple system. O Well maybe I will upgrade the electronics next year.

I like it. Using it now the weather has cooled down. Takes long time to heat the water if temp falls below 75. but once it is warm dive in !

      Best Purchase Ever
We wanted a longer swimming season. We live in TN and have been swimming in above 90 degree water since the first of April. We have a 28' round a/g pool and this heater heats it to 96 degrees with no problem. We use a solar blanket to keep the heat in at night. This heater is worth every penny!

I haven't used the pump yet. It will be used next season. It is important to know though that the pump uses a 220 line and big amps so you may need electrical added to be able to use it. We know now we will be adding amps which is an additional expense.

Great price and a super heater
I recently bought a Hayward pool heater which my pool guy installed last weekend. In one day, the water temperature went up nearly 2p degrees - we're in the pool almost a month early. Summer's coming but so is next winter. We are ready fir an extended pool season!

      Works perfectly
We bought this heater fall of 2016 it worked like a charm last spring and fall. We have a patio shaped pool 24 x 24 inground it raises the temp 1-2 degrees and hour. We purchased a 250K BTU.

Got the 250K BTU, Easy to Install and operate
This heater is much lighter than my old one. It was very easy to rotate the heat exchanger since my pool pump is on the left. It took me about 3 hours to install, since this is the first time doing it myself. I wired it up as 110volt ac. My pool water was 65 degrees and within a couple of hours it was up to 85 degrees. So far we are very happy with it and hope it lasts as long as my old one which was 14 years,

      Very Happy
I waited a long time to replace my original heat pump on my inground swimming pool. I did a lot of research and chose the Aquacal Icebreaker. I live in VA and wanted to have the option to keep my pool open during the fall and this was my best option. It was very easy to install and the support I received from In the Swim made it very easy to install. When I installed the unit, it took only three days to bring the water temp up to 80 degrees!
