      Easy connect
I purchased this raypac heater about a month ago to replace an existing raypac heater that was 10 years old. Having had no problems with the old heater until this year I was happy with the service it gave me. I down sized about 75k on btu and the new heater has been performing great . An easy install and the delivery put it at my poolside .

Great heater; understand warranty if self install
My old RayPak RP2100 335 in my garage lasted about 18 years before rusting out. I really liked that heater and the simple yet reliable controls on it. I bought the 336 model which is basically an updated version of that heater. It was delivered on a truck with free lift gate service to my garage, and tilt indicators showing no problem while shipping. That was great! The plate for the indoor vent on this heater is a little larger than on that older model so I had to order the one specific to ... read more this heater, but other than needing another inch of gas piping to reach the gas valve inside, and redoing the water piping so I could add heater bypass valves, it was basically a drop-in replacement. One thing to note: The heat exchanger on the new heater had a tiny leak between the tube plate and one of the tubes out of the box. It was definitely leaking from the tube plate inside the firebox, and not from the capron header gaskets. I called RayPak to exchange it on warranty but was told since I wasn't an authorized installer, I had to contact one for them to come out and look over the heater to determine if it was a warranty issue and, if it was, return through them. Also, since not installed by an authorized installer, warranty is cut to 90 days. The local authorized folks wanted $130/hr. to take a look (they'd also wanted almost 2.3x the cost of the heater from InTheSwim for the heater and install if I'd purchased it through them - no thanks!). After a little online research I realized that the RayPak heat exchanger tube plate to tube joints are just roll fitted and not welded, which is the weakest type of way to build this kind of joint. I decided instead to seal the tube/tube-plate junction behind the capron headers with epoxy on all tubes, both sides. That fixed the leak. Who knows, if these weak joints are a major cause of heat exchangers leaking and leading to subsequent rust out of the unit, I may get even more than 18 years out of this one. If not, I can buy another one for less than what the authorized installer wanted for putting in just one.

      Very Happy
I waited a long time to replace my original heat pump on my inground swimming pool. I did a lot of research and chose the Aquacal Icebreaker. I live in VA and wanted to have the option to keep my pool open during the fall and this was my best option. It was very easy to install and the support I received from In the Swim made it very easy to install. When I installed the unit, it took only three days to bring the water temp up to 80 degrees!

      Great Pool Heater
Bought this pool in early June 2017 but did not start using till July 2017. My pool is 8,500 gallons and is an Intex Ultra Frame. It heats my pool very quickly, even on days when it is 59 degrees. I chose a natural gas heater because in Colorado the temperature can easily dip down into the 50's at night and I wanted to be able to use it longer into the Fall than I felt a heat pump would accommodate. I gave it 4 stars because of the gassy smell it has, which I am told is the Mercaptan they put ... read more in gas so you can smell a leak if it occurs. I also found it very interesting to configure the connections for the pump due to the size of the inlet and exit nipples from the heater.

Easy to turn on and off
We bought this 150K heater and couldn't be happier with it. Very easy to operate and dependable too. Only regret not buying the 200K for a few dollars more.

like a bath in no time
When our heater didn't work anymore , I realized it was time to get what I pay for. This is it . Very fast heating, quite and no problem to heat our pool like a bath in no time. The pool pump circulatesthrough this unit nicely with no back pressure.I couldn't be happier and should have bought this one from the beginning.
