    Chlorine Floaters & Brominators

    1. 1 year ago
      Good product
Easy to fill (once you get the hang of putting the top back on). It almost works too good. I have it "closed" as far as it goes, but is actually putting too much chlorine in my 14 x 28 pool. I've been using 1" tabs, maybe I'll try 3" tabs. Hopefully they might dissolve slower.

      Durable!
I have had a pool for 5 years and every year we would have to get a new floating chlorine dispenser. We have had the shark and a few others but they never lasted more than a year and we were constantly filling it. I purchased this jumbo chlorinator last year and LOVE it! It keeps the chlorine levels up and requires fewer fills! Wish I would have purchased this one first!

      Jumbo Chlorinator
Inexpensive and serves the purpose we require; plus holds additional tablets.

      Shark!
We bought the "shark" chlorine floater because our automatic chlorinator broke (again). We're glad we did. It's fun to look at, easy to fill, and it's tall enough that is doesn't get stuck in the skimmer area (like normal ones).

      The bottom dispenser is sturdy!
Baby shark is a nice touch floating around our pool.

      Looks cool!!
It look cool but it is fading fast and it gets caught on the hose assembly for my pool cleaner so it doesn't move around the pool very well!! That is the only reason I would not recommend this product.

      Love this
I love this product. I might be lazy but it keeps me from ha omg to check my skimmer to see when I need more chlorine and it lets me plan and buy more chlorine befor me I’m totally out.

      Pop-up Floating Chlorinator
I purchased this item because my in-line chlorinator failed and I do not plan to replace it this season. I was uncertain whether the floating chlorinator would do the job, because In the Swim's description gives no idea of what size pool can be adequately chlorinated with the device. It was certainly worth a try since I had no other reasonable options. My aboveground pool is 24 ft diameter and 4 ft deep; I am quite pleased with the chlorinator's performance. It is maintaining my total ... read more chlorine at 3-5 ppm. I fastened my chlorinator to the pool wall where the water inlet from the pump is located, thinking that the high water flow would help dissolve the chlorine. I have not yet tried letting it float free to see whether there is a difference in chlorine level. The pop-up feature is nice, as it allows a visual check of the need to refill. In my case, I am adding five 3-inch chlorine pucks about once a week, which is actually a slightly lower rate than the inline chlorinator (~one puck/day). There is nothing magical about the pop-up feature; the popping up happens because the plastic basket wants to float, but it is weighed down by the chlorine tablets. When enough chlorine is used up, the plastic rises. This chlorinator is less trouble than my inline chlorinator, which requires shutting off the pump and removing the difficult chlorinator cover. The floater requires filling more often, but it is easier. The proximity of the chlorinator to swimmers is not an issue; it is easily ignored or pushed away. I have to stand directly above it to detect any odor. I cannot yet speak to the durability of the product. I suppose the plastic basket will eventually deteriorate due to its exposure to high chlorine concentration, but I will have to wait (hopefully a long time) to see how long this takes. Overall, I am well-satisfied with this chlorinator. You should be able to buy one with confidence, especially now that I have given you an idea of how large a pool you might expect to chlorinate with it (something that In the Swim really should add to their description).

      Stellar Product!!
I bought two of these 2 yrs ago for my 40'x16' and 4' to 8' 30,000gal in-ground pool and they are perfect and everything I expected. I used to hate trying to round up my old "non-popping" floaters to check the tabs. With these guys I never have to worry about it, I know exactly when I need to refill my 3" tabs. My only complaint is that there is no way to adjust the flow of how much chlorine is let out but with my size pool two open just like they are is perfect, so much so I DC'd my in-line ... read more chlorinator and only use these now. This is going on my 3rd year/season with them and I'm sure I will need to replace after this season only because the lids are just now starting to show some UV damage. We live in a very hard water area and calcium is bad, the one time the device did not pop up was due to a lil bit of calcium that I cleaned off with vinegar and back to popping up like a champ. Def buying some more this fall. Also if you are not already using the 3" SUPER MULTI-TABS you should be, these are the best tabs I've ever used. Controls algae and has everything the pool needs in one lil tablet. WELL WORTH THE EXTRA COST to get these tabs and seems they don't dissolve as fast as the regular tabs as well.

      Fits 3 Inch tablets
I purchased the A2605 Floating Chlorinator/Brominator. I thought the price was reasonable and it was compatible with 3 inch tablets. It can fit like 3-4 (three inch) tablets. It has few parts to deal with and was easy to use. The lid is made of plastic and can be easily removed without any effort. There is a nice adjustable outlet at the bottom too. The picture is accurate and representative of the product.

      easy to use product
I use this for winter time closing chlorination because it is usually still a little on the warm side outdoors when I close the pool. It is an extra safeguard for not having a green pool in the spring when I do open it up again.

      Excellent Product
This is a great holder for the chlorine tablets. We hardly even remember that it's in our pool because it's so small and it doesn't seem like you have to add tablets that often. We would highly recommend this product to everyone!

      Jumbo Duck Chlorinator
Jumbo D.Chlorintor is swimming in my in-ground pool and having a great time chlorinating as he swims circles around previous chlorinators. Jumbo Duck Chlorinator is one of many purchases I have made from In The Swim and I am happy with their products and the timely delivery of In The Swim products.

      Cute Duck
I think the duck is adorable. However the basket fell apart after 2 years. Can't seem to find a replacement for it. The Duck (top part) held up well.

    Floating Chlorinators & Brominators

Chlorine Floaters for Pools & Spas

Floating pool chlorinators and floating brominators maintain a steady flow of chemicals into your pool, even when the pump is not running. Floaters also prevent problems from using tablets in the pool skimmer. Add 1 inch or 3 inch tabs (or sticks) to the floating chlorine dispenser, close the lid, adjust the baffle vents, and simply place into the pool. Floating pool chlorinators have a top hole so you can tie-off the floater to a rope hook or ladder rail.

Chlorine floaters are the most common choice for above ground pool owners. Do not use the skimmer as a chlorinator, which will cause hose and pump problems, unless you run the pump 24/7. If you do not have an automatic chemical feeder, a pool chlorine floater is the next best thing. Floating chlorinators ensure that chlorine is being dispensed constantly in your pool so that you can be confident of sanitary pool water.

How many chlorine tablets to use in a pool floater? To determine the number of tablets and best baffle setting on a floating chlorinator, test the chlorine level over a few days, to find the sweet spot of 1.0-2.0 ppm of free chlorine. If the chlorine tests low, add more tablets and/or open the baffle vents fully, and if the chlorine tests high, remove some tablets, or close the baffle vents more. Most pools use about one 3" chlorine tablet for every 5,000 gallons of pool water, replaced every 5-7 days. Set a reminder so you don't forget to refill the floater with tabs, or use the Pop-up Chlorinator, which lets you know when it is empty.

Winter pool floaters? Because it contains no chlorine, our winter pool floaters cannot stain plaster or bleach vinyl, even if they sink or tip over. In The Swim non-chlorine winter floaters are not sold separately however, only as part of our Pool Closing Kits. You can use a chlorine tablet floater during winter, with careful placement. Close the floater baffle vents fully, and tie-off the floater over the middle of the pool with a tight rope connected on each side of the pool.

In The Swim’s selection of floating chlorine dispensers range in size from traditional blue and white floaters that hold 5-6 tablets, to the larger Cool Shark and Jumbo Duck Floating Chlorinator, and the newest Jumbo Floating Chlorinator, all of which can fit 8-9 tablets. These large chlorine floaters are suitable for pools over 25,000 gallons. They are often used as winter floaters, and also for smaller pools - with the baffles nearly closed, a small pool could go 2-3 weeks between refills.

All of our floating pool chlorinators arrive with fast shipping and processing. Please feel free to contact In The Swim’s friendly, expert staff by phone or email with any questions you may have regarding pool floaters and brominators or any of our pool supplies.
