AquaPro works great over 80 degrees
Love the unit and the help line from AquaPro was great. Fairly light unit helps with easy installation. Hardest part was digging the trench for the electrical from the house to the pool. Once the outside temperature reaches above 80 degrees, this heat pump (AquaPro Pro400 & 10K gal above ground pool) keeps things warm easily. It took about 8 hours to go from 74 degrees to 84-86 with outdoor temp around 84-86 degrees. I haven't found yet if that's good or typical or bad, but it's working fine for us.

      Works in Michigan!
We had doubts that a heat pump would work well in Michigan, but the 1400 model heats our pool to 82 degrees all season long (May 1 - Sept 15-ish) - if temps drop into the 60's this one seems to run all the time, but can still keep the water warm. No complaints so far, had it installed now for two years.

I like it. Using it now the weather has cooled down. Takes long time to heat the water if temp falls below 75. but once it is warm dive in !

I haven't used the pump yet. It will be used next season. It is important to know though that the pump uses a 220 line and big amps so you may need electrical added to be able to use it. We know now we will be adding amps which is an additional expense.

      Best Purchase Ever
We wanted a longer swimming season. We live in TN and have been swimming in above 90 degree water since the first of April. We have a 28' round a/g pool and this heater heats it to 96 degrees with no problem. We use a solar blanket to keep the heat in at night. This heater is worth every penny!

      Simple design and looks cool
I bought it about 3 weeks ago. It was on back order after I submitted the purchase, but it was the pool heater recommended by my installer.

      Very Happy
I waited a long time to replace my original heat pump on my inground swimming pool. I did a lot of research and chose the Aquacal Icebreaker. I live in VA and wanted to have the option to keep my pool open during the fall and this was my best option. It was very easy to install and the support I received from In the Swim made it very easy to install. When I installed the unit, it took only three days to bring the water temp up to 80 degrees!

like a bath in no time
When our heater didn't work anymore , I realized it was time to get what I pay for. This is it . Very fast heating, quite and no problem to heat our pool like a bath in no time. The pool pump circulatesthrough this unit nicely with no back pressure.I couldn't be happier and should have bought this one from the beginning.

      Hayward 250BTU
I installed this heater in June and love it. It heats my 25,000 gallon pool very quickly.

Got the 250K BTU, Easy to Install and operate
This heater is much lighter than my old one. It was very easy to rotate the heat exchanger since my pool pump is on the left. It took me about 3 hours to install, since this is the first time doing it myself. I wired it up as 110volt ac. My pool water was 65 degrees and within a couple of hours it was up to 85 degrees. So far we are very happy with it and hope it lasts as long as my old one which was 14 years,

      Great buy
Awesome heater! Love the digital thermostat! Also tells you current water temperature- love the electric ignition as well!! Water temp raises about 5-7 degrees in 1 hr- I have a 24 round pool- would recommend!

      Works great, bad freight
Heater works extremely well. However when delivered, the box was an extremely good condition strapped to a pallet. after the UPS driver left we open the box and found the top of the unit damaged. Everybody is quick to point the finger at everybody else, I believe UPS are going to take care of the problem however I do believe the unit was packed that way

      This is an excellent heater
We've got an 18' round above ground about 4 years old and have been on the fence about getting a heater. This year we decided to take the plunge so to speak. I looked at a few, the most popular is Hayward 100,000 BTU's. I got a price from the place the place that installed the pool, if you add the sales tax it was actually a little bit more money for a 100,000 BTU unit. The research I did showed that it would raise the temperature on average about 10 degrees in 8 hours. Then I came across this ... read more one, and knowing of the Raypak name I decided the larger size would be worthwhile. At 156,000 BTU's I knew it would take less time to heat. The unit arrived very well packed, the instructions are very easy to follow. I've got a Hayward DE filter with a 1 HP pump, the instructions said to add a bypass if the pump is greater than 70 GPM's, I wasn't sure of the output of the pump so I installed a bypass just to be safe, it doesn't hurt. When I started the unit the pool was sitting at 77 degrees with the outdoor temperature of about 75 degrees. Within an hour the temperature was at 79 degrees. It is completely silent when operating. The digital controls are a really nice bonus in itself rather than the colored dial that is on the Hayward, and in my opinion makes the extra money worth it. Free shipping is always nice, UPS brought it to my house 3 days after ordering it. In closing I am very pleased with this heater and look forward to many years of using it. I am also excited to be able to get in the pool more often rather than have to wait till a week of 90 degree days makes the water comfortable. And thank you to In The Swim too! I've bought for our Hot Tub from them, everything is always great quality and excellent value. Don't hesitate, this heater is the best value you will find.

Easy to Install, well built, a great value
25K gallon pool. I added this heater after a solar panel failure. Since the season is so short in Chicagoland and I needed back up to solar heat anyway, I bought and installed this. Shipped free. Outstanding and fast Technical support from the factory. With natgas so cheap it's a nice way to go. I spent 4 hours running the electricity before I realized it's a thermocouple system. O Well maybe I will upgrade the electronics next year.

      Easy connect
I purchased this raypac heater about a month ago to replace an existing raypac heater that was 10 years old. Having had no problems with the old heater until this year I was happy with the service it gave me. I down sized about 75k on btu and the new heater has been performing great . An easy install and the delivery put it at my poolside .
