    Above-Ground Cleaners

      LOVE THIS CLEANER !!!!
This is year 2 using this cleaner! It works off the return. I have a 20 ft with a sand filter system. I have bought several automatic cleaners and this the only one that works and has kept working! I don't have to fight with air in the lines either :) It does move debris around (as it changes water pressure to move another direction) & doesn't always pick everything up on the first pass - but give it a chance! Let it run while you go do something else and come back and it will be clean! My only ... read more negative is that when I remove it from the pool I need someone able to turn off the filter at the same time - so debris does not go back into the pool and the water doesn't flood my porch lol. But all of the time saved to have a clean pool and positives of this cleaner far outweigh this!

      Great product.
I have used it for two years now. I have the intex 32X16 pool. The only thing is it don't do corners very good, but it cleans up leaves and dirt very good. I read some of the comments they loose vacuum. if so you are hooked up wrong. this unit hooks to your return water side. It does not vacuum like most cleaners. nothing goes to your filter. It uses return water pressure to make it move. It has it's own filter inside the unit. easy to open and clean filter.

      Great Purchase and Customer Service
This pool cleaner is very easy to put together and use. It is not so heavy that you struggle getting it in and out of the pool like some of the bigger pool cleaners. This cleaner is not suitable for soft sided pools, however customer service is very accomodating and helpful with any concerns you might have.

1st one great, 2nd one not worth it
I purchased this product about 6 years ago and it worked great - 5 stars! I would leave it hooked up all week with no problems and pool maintenance was minimal. The hose from the unit to the debris bag finally gave out and is not offered as a separate item so I purchased a new unit. After 4 months, the hose on the new unit has started to disconnect from the unit causing the unit to stop moving around the pool and preventing the return of filtered/chlorinated pool water from properly circulating ... read more and requiring a lot more pool maintenance. I give the new unit 1 star rating. Overall 3 star rating as a combination of the two.

      Great in the beginning!
We've had our above ground pool about 6 years and have gone through 3 Polaris 65. We have mild winters so left it connected the first 2 years with no problems. 3rd year, hard winter so disconnected it ,next summer it made funny noises and went in circles and kept turning over. Once it almost drained the pool! Took it to our local pool store, they charged $75 to "Replace the inner workings ". Still had problems. Read where to stretch the hose in sunshine, did that, no help. Long story short, on ... read more 3rd one, now having same issues. Please tell me another pool cleaner to buy.

Works great in smaller above ground pool!
I like this pool cleaner, it does a good job. This is the first automatic cleaner that keeps moving around the pool (above ground, 18’ round). I keep my eye on it as one time it scooted under the ladder. It was easy to clear from the ladder and it hasn’t done that again. This was a good purchase.

      Great cleaner - great price.
After years of consistent use, I replaced my Ranger with The Splasher. I've only had it a few months now, but am truly pleased with its performance. I purchased mainly because of the price and so far it's been a great deal. I'll update this review at a later date.

      Manual is worthless, product rocks
The manual has tiny pics, tiny print, and is next to impossible to read. Wife and I put it together by taking pics of the manual and zooming. 2 extra parts, Put it together expecting failure, but, this thing, this thing rocks. WOW, a little disappointed that the hose kept getting tangled, but we'll try something different next time we use it. I WOULD suggest this to anyone tired of standing there and going back and forth. Works like a charm.

      Great product
I Love the automatic pool cleaner, The only complaint I would have is the hose gets tangled a few times in the 3 hours I use it

      Fantastic aid for pool enjoyment!
We've had Tyler (the turtle) since we put the pool in over 10 years ago. He really takes a lot of trouble out of pool care. He even picked up a nail that I dropped in the pool while taking the cover off. With him and our Frog clorinating system, my whole pool care regiment takes under an hour each month. And I have crystal clear water with all the chemicals in balance.

      Turtleman is awesome!
I bought this to get the leaves and sediment on the bottom of the pool that was clogging our Diver Dave up. It was a great purchase and does as expected.

Beats using a manual vacuum cleaner!
I gave it a three star because it works great on my sisters pool but in my pool it goes slow. She has a chlorine? pool rectangle shape, mine is salt and a t-shape.

This pool vac works pretty good for the price.
I have been using this vac and its earlier models since i put in the pool. This is #4. If you do not use a service, you will have to take ca re of some maint. yourself. It will deteriorate due to the pool chemistry over time. If you have steps and cranies it can get stuck. This wears out the pads that propel the vac. I recommend using the bumper. You will have to do a little fitting with a file to get it to fit flat to the bottom and not block the pods. Be carefull to not overtighten the screws ... read more as they can strip. The other parts can be replaced as needed.

      A very clever, easy-to-use design
My husband and I have been wanting an automatic pool cleaner for years, but couldn't afford the high cost of the 'Polaris" and similar electric-powered cleaners. Allan's brother told us about this one and we ordered it right away. It's absolutely great! Rather than having an electric motor to worry about, this unit plugs right into the skimmer like a manual vacuum and is hydraulically powered by the water moving through. It also has relatively few moving parts and all are fairly easily ... read more accessible. For our 20' x 40' pool, it takes move like 3.5 to 4 hours to complete a cleaning job, but is worth the wait. There's a single door in the back of the unit that one opens to clean out fhe innards - takes only seconds. I wish, though, that the door had a locking mechanism that did not require a screwdriver (Phillips at that), because we don't normally keep a toolkit in the pool area -- but this is a very minor complaint about an otherwise excellent product.

      Could be better
Great cleaner but not made for a large (15x39’) pool. Only cleans one end or the other, never the whole pool.

It's ok, but not what I expected
I purchased this based on others reviews and the price seemed more reasonable. It is not exactly what I expected. It does not completely go forward all the way & backward all the way, it stops short of getting to the walls & does not climb the walls all the way to the tile as others have stated. However the machine is easy to open & netting that comes with it is easy to put on. I ran it on large pool and there was a lot of sand and leaves it had picked up but there is not a consistent line of ... read more cleaning, it missed a lot! It also shuts off or quits working after the allotted (per "large pool") 2 hours and I had to pull it from the deep end near the drains and tried to restart it on large pool, it did the same moves. I have a 26,000 gallon pool with a 4 ft shallow & 8 ft deep end and dramatic stairs with a tanning ledge. So much for hoping to not have to brush my pool to keep it clean. Others stated they could "tweak it" but I have not found where that is possible on this machine. I would recommend for a really small pool, but not large.

      I love this Pool Rover!
This year both our leaf cover and winter cover split so all the sludge that was on top emptied out into our pool. It was gross to say the least. I emptied the pool to about a quarter of the way up so that I could get in there and try to "shovel" the sludge out. I spent over 4 hours trying to do that and I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. A friend mentioned this product and while I was a little hesitant, it worked miracles! I had to run it about 4-5 times (remember I had a lot of sludge at ... read more the bottom) but after that, pretty much everything was picked up. Filled the pool and we were ready to go within a few days. I have used it twice more since then for a quick clean up and I still love it. Does all the work for me so I can just lay in the pool and relax!
