I always had high PH and was always adding acid almost weekly. I haven't had to add acid since putting this in my skimmer, going on 3 weeks now. You definitely need to put it in some kind of panty hose or bag so you can remove it when you need to clean out the skimmer basket because it is very slimy. It has even helped my phosphate levels come down which I fight every year. I will be buying this every year from now on!
