So thankful to find a ladder that is made to screw onto a wood deck. We bought a 52 inch above ground pool after our 19 year old pool collapsed. All the new pools are 52 inches so our deck had to be modified because the old pool was 48 inches.
We built a step up that made is over 55 inches high. You can not walk or step on the new plastic/resin top pools, so we had to build the deck over the top rails. This ladder was the 3rd ladder we purchased and we were so happy to finally find one that worked. We also have a sloped bottom so the middle is a bit deeper.
This ladder was exactly what we were looking for. Also made in USA which was a real plus!!!

This is a very badly designed product. The instructions were hard to follow, and working alone, it is almost impossible to install. The ladder kept floating away and filling it with water took two people lying on top of it in the pool to sink it. The guards on the back to prevent entrapment keep coming out. The blow molded design traps contaminants and it is impossible to clean around. And I wonder if the blow molded parts are going to trap algae. How would you clean them out?

THE LADDER IS NICE TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE POOL......BUT THE BIGGEST FLAW IS ONCE YOU FILL THE SIDES AND STEPS WITH WATER IT DOESN' T LAST AND THE WHOLE LADDER BEGINS TO FLOAT UP. WE HAVE TO TAKE IT APART AND FILL IT AGAIN. P.I.T.A.

strong and sturdy. Water storage in the ladder is
We fought with the old "sand bag" latter for years. No matter how you sealed the sand bags, leakage would occur. That problem is now solved. This sturdy latter was easy to assembled (when you read and follow instructions). As soon as we started filling the ladder, it slowly when down to it's place in the pool. NO MORE SAND! I used longer screw for the Section you secured to the deck. also, use washers so the screw head doesn't go through. That is my only recommendation. I really like this ladder, and wished I bought it earlier.
