Strips Do Not WorkReceived these strips on the tenth, one day after I added 90lbs of 20 Mule Team Borax (76 oz box, 19 of them) to 23,400 gallons of water, also added acid to offset rise in PH. Based on the calculations this should put the borates at 52 ppm. When I used the first test strip, no color change was observed. I re-read the directions and tried with a new strip, same results. The strip, after being dipped in the pool then waiting for 15 seconds, is the same color as the ones in the bottle.
These strips simply don't work. Took a sample of the pool water to the pool store and they read 49 ppm, right where I want to be. Got home, called In The Swim, told them about the problem and they refunded my money no questions asked nor do they want the remaining strips returned. Great customer service, now I just need to find something that will test borate levels, these strips are not it and have found their way to the trash can.
