    Suction Cleaners

      Essential for an Automatic Cleaner
I got an AquaVac Tiger Shark and didn't understand why it didn't get the whole pool clean overnight. I ran it during the day once and saw that it got caught on top of the main drain and just sat there. After I purchased and installed the Unicover, it hasn't gotten stuck again and now my pool is in great shape. Excellent purchase, and essential for an automatic cleaner.

works great with my dolphin dynamic
my dolphin dynamic does a great job... when it is not spinning round and round stuck on the bottom drain. when i saw this product, i had to give it a try. installs easily. only a few screws. then you sink it to the bottom and it just rests over/around your existing drain. i have the standard hayward anti-vortex drain. the unicover fits over it, but not snugly, there is about a half inch of room all the way around. which scared me at first. i thought the dolphin might push it off. but it did not. ... read more it works great. no more getting stuck!

My Krepy Krawly kept getting stuck on my main drain but after installing this product It has never, I mean never, gotten stuck even once. I wish I had bought one years before. It's worth every penny you pay. After I ordered, The "In The Swim" company delivered it very, very quickly. It's almost like they had a store next door to me.

      Impressive
I've been using the cyclonic automatic cleaner with my automatic vacuum for a few weeks now. It really does keep the debris out of the filter basket.

      Great asset for my pool
Once I hooked it up I couldn't get over how well it worked. The only thing I can say is I wish I had bought it a long time ago.

      Very effective
Watching it work reminds me of a Dyson. No large debris gets past it and into the filter.

      Just what I needed!!!
Bought replacement pad for my 5 year old kreepy krauly and it works like brand new! Saved money by not having to buy a whole new keep krauly. So glad I was able to purchase just replacement parts!

      very industrious critter
Our new Aqua Critter is replacing an aging and broken Polaris 65, and I must say that I'm glad we switched. The Bug (as we call it) is easier to set up, and did it's job with no trouble. Our pool floor has no wrinkles, but is a bit dimply, so I had some minor concern about the need for a "smooth" pool bottom. There was no difficulty, however. I love the way it cleans the fine silt - something the Polaris, as dependable as it was, never did. If we encounter too much heavy debris, we can always ... read more add the leaf canister. Removing it from the water, section by section, was easier as well.

      Awesome!!
Thing works great!! I don’t like cleaning the pool, so this thing does it for me! No problems whatsoever as long as you have plenty of suction! Most of your pool pumps will!

      Fantastic Time Saver
This little Aqua Critter, we call Eunice, has given me back my life! It cleans our 24’ X 12’ pool so all I have to do is scoop out the leaves. Before Eunice I had to spend at least an hour vacuuming each night after work. It took me a while to actually figure out how to hook Eunice up to the pool. YouTube showed me how to hook Eunice up to my Intex pool. I took the hose that runs from the filter to the pump and, after closing the valve to the pool, I jammed Eunice’s hose tightly into the hose ... read more going into the pump and turn it to filter. Viola! It worked! Eunice runs about 3 – 4 hours a night. Occasionally she gets stuck by the pool ladder so I just slide her out of the way and off she goes! I would highly recommend this little Aqua Critter.

      Works great
It's a bit heavy, so depending upon your cleaner, you may also need a very short piece of hose to keep it close to the pool wall (to keep the hose from tangling)

A must have for cleaning your pool.

The pool vs. Deodar cedar needles------
Used to get bombarded by the cedar tree needles---real hassle keeping the pool clean. My wife thought up placing an old nylon stocking inside the mesh collection bag and PRESTO-----virtually all the needles that made their way to the pool bottom were snared in the trap!!

      Love my Penguin
I purchased the Hayward Penguin above ground pool cleaner this summer. So far this has proven to be an outstanding product. It has exceeded my expectations. It's easy to assemble and hook up. I think "penny" is adorable and she keeps my pool sparkling clean. I definitely recommend this product.

      adjustment knob missing
Pool Vac arrived , but I need/o suction adjuster @ left rear of unit. This I'm second Hayward Vac and I have always been pleased with it's performance, but I need to set it to setting III to get up my pool walls.

      Great value! Super company support!
Terrific cleaner, easy to use. It climbs the walls and does a great job on the sides and floor of my gunite pool. Hayward tech support the best around. Even out of warranty, they are absolutely the best company to do business with. I have used this cleaner for 4+ years. Once, under warranty, overnighted it to them, they completely rebuilt the unit, and paid for return shipping, all done within 5 days -- no charge. Out of warranty, they did the same - no charge! Works flawlessly. Occasionally, if ... read more big debris (rocks, tile grout flaking off), get caught inside, it's fairly easy to get this out. Need to check the "flippers", which occasionally either need to be replaced or re-attached. Otherwise, no complaints. I use it in conjunction with a leaf/debris catcher (separate item). The best thing about it is, there are no electrical cords to mess with, you can leave the unit and the hose floating in the pool when not in use....just disengage it from the skimmer and let it float!

      A very clever, easy-to-use design
My husband and I have been wanting an automatic pool cleaner for years, but couldn't afford the high cost of the 'Polaris" and similar electric-powered cleaners. Allan's brother told us about this one and we ordered it right away. It's absolutely great! Rather than having an electric motor to worry about, this unit plugs right into the skimmer like a manual vacuum and is hydraulically powered by the water moving through. It also has relatively few moving parts and all are fairly easily ... read more accessible. For our 20' x 40' pool, it takes move like 3.5 to 4 hours to complete a cleaning job, but is worth the wait. There's a single door in the back of the unit that one opens to clean out fhe innards - takes only seconds. I wish, though, that the door had a locking mechanism that did not require a screwdriver (Phillips at that), because we don't normally keep a toolkit in the pool area -- but this is a very minor complaint about an otherwise excellent product.

Wanda is the best vacuum she moves quick and has a strong suction
    2. 7 years ago
      won't give her up
When I was considering buying a pool cleaner, I was very sceptical about Wanda or anything like it, but I bought it anyway because I spent so much time with the hand held pool vac and due to an injury I had to find another way so Hereeeeeeee's WANDA, the best purchase I made for my pool. I don't know what the person was talking about that said it takes him 30 minutes to hook it up cause he must be doing something wrong it takes about 5 minutes at the most. I tell everyone "you have to get Wanda ... read more for your pool" I won't do without it and if the one I have breaks and can't be fixed I'll buy another one. This is my second season with my Wanda.

      Works better than expected
I bought this a few weeks ago to replace a worn out, 12 year old Zodiac Manta. I was familiar with the Manta and thought it did a good job. I started using Wanda the Whale and saw a significant improvements. Wanda cleaned the pool much quicker than the Manta. The dome shape of Wanda does not allow the vacuum to get stuck at the base of the ladder like the Manta would. The plastic that Wanda is made of seems more fragile than of the Manta. There are also more moving parts on Wanda that ... read more may cause problems some day. Time will tell whether I can get 12 years out of Wanda like I did with the Manta.

    Benefits of Suction Pool Cleaners

     1. Lowest cost pool cleaners, starting at less than $100.
     2. Fewer moving parts and wearable parts, for less maintenance and repairs.
     3. No additional cost to operate, runs when your pool filter pump is running.
     4. Available Skim Vac Plates trap leaf debris in the skimmer basket.
     5. Available In-line Leaf Canisters handle large and heavy leaf debris.

How Suction Cleaners Work: Suction pool cleaners connect to your pool skimmer or dedicated vacuum line, and are powered by the suction of water from your pool pump. With models designed to clean in-ground and above ground pools, suction cleaners move about the pool to vacuum walls and floor, bringing the dirt and debris into the pump basket and pool filter for removal.

Suction Cleaner Installation: Suction cleaners assemble in minutes without tools. Simply join the 4' hose sections together to reach the furthest part of the pool. Connect one end of the hose to the cleaner head, and the other into your skimmer or vacuum line. Adjust pump suction valves if needed to pull more water from the cleaner, and start moving the cleaner. A 1 hp pump or greater is recommended to provide enough suction power.
