We've got a 24' round pool and this works great. We used to roll up the cover and lay it in the grass or drap it over our fence. The fence would tear it and we got all kinds of dirt and grass back in the pool.
This attached quite easily and makes covering and uncovering much better. I can uncover it from outside the pool and pull it back on from inside the pool by myself. My son can pull it back on with a little help. No more grass all over the cover!

WORKS GREAT but EXPENSIVE
I was pleased after installed, not crazy about permanent holes in my new pool rails should hooks brake or crack during winter months, however so far its holding cover rather well. My pool is 24' round I would advise putting end hooks a couple inches closer together, cover does sometimes fall on either end if not placed on just so. $100.00 is a crazy amount for 5 plastic hooks but I do love them so far.

I have a 15' x 30' pool. I first purchased one set of the solar saddles, several years ago, and was very pleased with its ease in installing and the ease in use with the solar cover. Last fall I purchased a second set to add to the overall coverage of the solar cover. Some of the parts were missing. After notifying company I was personally contacted and quickly sent the misses pieces. I strongly recommend this product for those that do not want to mess around with a reel.
I was very hesitant to buy this product because it's so expensive (still think it shouldn't cost so much) but I am really happy that I did. It works perfectly and makes covering and uncovering my pool a breeze. Fast, easy, and simple.

Now that I have gotten everything set up and used this puppy for awhile, I highly recommend this product. It has made pool life sooo much easier. Yes, it is high on the price but well worth it in the long run.

This is by far an incredible reel system and Affordable compared to any other automatic pool cover system! I waited for over 2 years for a review and finally found one on another site who complained about the short cord - really?? That is not even a hiccup compared to how one person can pull off the cover and cover the pool back up with ease. Now for one we have an oval pool with steps. If you use a solar blanket cover this will work on any pool according to the Mfg. when I called. We kept the
... read more cover square where we attached the cover to the reel; we cut the cover on both sides so the seams of the cover are centered also. This is so the tether cord attaches on the seams to the poly rod which is underneath the cover. This would be for strength. We also got the adjustable Pool Boy and set it on the highest setting. Be mindful, the video does leave out the part where you do have to straighten out your cover at the start of reeling up the cover but after that, this is a DREAM come true. Wish I had it from the beginning, it would have save a lot of hassle.
All in all a nice solar reel. Easy to assemble and operate. sturdy enough even at maximun extension. The only drawback is that the straps that attach the cover to the reel rotted away after just one season.

Excellent except for one thing
Bought this about a month ago and overall it is excellent and a good value. Works well and looks like it will hold up good for many years. My only complaint is the plastic attachment clips for the cover. They have very poor fitting plastic threaded plugs. I deformed them with vice grips to tighten the grip and now they hold fine.
Other than the clips I am satisfied though I may buy another handle to attach so that it can be rolled up from either side.

Great unit, bearings make rolling and unrolling very simple. Very little effort is need to reel in the 38 ft cover
I've been using a hand crank reel for years and when it was time for a new one I opted for this one and boy I have not been disappointed! It's so easy to use! I don't know how I did it without this!! I'm in love!!!

Just purchased this battery operated reel. I was going to purchase the Pool Boy 2 with an electrical plug but I had no outlets nearby and an extension cord would be unsightly. I'm so glad I bought this battery powered reel. It was easy to install and set up, it took me and my son 2 hours to assemble. The reel is solid and sturdy, it doesn't wobble with my 20' X 45' heavy 16mil solar cover. That little battery powers up the cover in both directions in under a minute. The only drawback is the
... read more that there is only one remote and it must be re-activated with each use by pressing both buttons for a few seconds as a safety I guess. If the battery holds charge for two weeks before recharging , I'll be satisfied as it only takes 6 hours to fully charge. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase as it was also delivered within 3 days from purchase. Thank you IntheSwim.com
This is only the 2nd set of straps we have used on our solar cover.
This set was faster and easier to install.
The 1st set (not the same brand) started to fray and come apart in the 2nd season - so we will see how long this set lasts. Hopefully more than 2 seasons.

Straps are fine but the Velcro is a waste!
The S6500 for an in-ground works fine but the sticky back Velcro that comes with the kit is so cheap! I attached the sticky backs to my reel and within two days they had all fallen off. Had to go buy some Velcro with better adhesive.

poor planning concerning velcro
The directions were to place Velcro on the reel and then attach straps to that and adjust buckles. The Velcro was not strong enough to do the job. I found a way to put the straps around the reel, adjust the buckle to draw the cover close to the reel. This made it easier to reel the cover in and it wound neatly with no help from a second person.
Compared to the reels on the groynd, this reel works so easily. You can break the wheels and actually pull it on with one person. Wheeling in is a dream. Only prob is what I knew going in. Directions are a bit confusing and you need a strong drill. Aluminum is strong and hard. But I am a 120 lb woman.

Works great. So much easier
I bought this for our 20x40' in ground pool. It's our first solar cover reel and I must say it was worth the price. What used to take two people about 10 minutes to do with a lot of hassle, now takes only one person less than five minutes. I chose this reel because I wanted something that would last and was tall enough to roll over the diving board with the cover reeled up. I also like that it has a 5yr warranty when many of the others only had a 1 yr or 3yr at the most. I am a little leery of
... read more the pole as it sags in the middle with or without the cover reeled up, but 20 ft is quite a distance for poke to remain perfectly straight and rigid without being made of solid steel. The straps for hooking up the cover to reel worked great and look like they will hold on well. It took a little bit to setup the main polevel as it required some drilling to customize the length to fit yur pool. It was well worth the effort however and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend.

Love it even my twin 4 year old grandsons can do it.
We purchased this for a 24' above ground pool thinking that 1 person would be able to uncover / cover the pool. This is not the case, but only because of the size. We are very satisfied with the quality and there is no sagging and holds the solar cover nicely. The big issue is that the instructions are awful and the video tutorials on the Rocky website are seriously out of date. Because it's an AG pool, we did not need the concrete anchors included, so not sure of those directions. Overall,
... read more it's a great product, but for a large AG pool with a wooden deck, spend the money on an automatic reel.

This reel system is the best. It is easy for one person to use, especially to roll up the solar cover onto the reel because of the locking mechanism. It does not sag and the wheels make it very easy to roll out of the way. The only tricky part is to unroll the cover by yourself. It requires a little practice.

Rocky's 3A reel
I purchased a cheap plastic reel 3 years ago and my neighbor purchased a Rocky's - I was penny wise and dollar foolish. I recently purchased a Rocky's from In The Swim and I'm very happy with it. It even holds up well outside in our harsh Wisconsin winters.
