      Great price for great products.
Great value compared to other places, glad I didn’t get price gouged by the chain stores.

Best shock thay I have ever used.
I got a box of 12 bags & I'm glad I did. It does more than shock. I have a fibreglass pool and had trouble with staining when I shocked with a different brand, it also dissolves quickly

      The BEST!
I tried this last season when there was a special on it. You get what you pay for . BUY THIS. Dump in and walk away every week. Clear Water, no headaches. Compliments on the pool clarity to follow. Excellent product well with the added $$. Thanks again intheswim for keeping pool maintenance simple.

      Cloudier than other brands
By chance I had a few bags of ITS Super Shock and a few bags of Ultra Shock made by N. Jones Company. I noticed when putting them in the pool the ITS shock made the pool cloudy and the other did not. I have no idea why, but I would prefer the other shock.

      Great results!
This is our first year in our new house, and the pool had been poorly taken care of by the previous owners. The water was cloudy even after an almost complete water change and balancing. Then it turned green. Yuck! The pool shock we bought from our local pool store was not cutting it. Saw this online and figured it was worth trying. So happy we did! This in combination with Super Floc Out cleared the water right up. Now we use Super Pool Shock once a week to prevent new algae growth. I won't use anything else!

      I LOVE THIS LITTLE BOTTLE
AT FIRST I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS POWDERED INSTANT LIQUID -- I NORMALLY BUY THE LIQUID CHLORINE TO ADD TO MY POOL, SO AT FIRST WHEN I OPEN THIS BOTTLE AND SAW IT WAS GRANULAR I THOUGHT WHY WOULD THEY CALL THIS "INSTANT LIQUID CHLORINE" BUT I HAD NO CHOICE AT THE MOMENT AND USED IT AFTER A LARGE POOL PARTY AND BOY WAS I PLEASANTLY SURPRISED...IT MADE MY POOL CRYSTAL CLEAR AND I'VE HAD TO USE SO LITTLE TO MAINTAIN ON A WEEKLY BASIS...SO I LOVE THAT I'M ACTUALLY SAVING MONEY. THANKS IN THE SWIM!

      A Great Product
I have been using this product as a supplemental pool shock for 16 years. I have lots of grand kids and like to keep my chlorine level at 3ppm. After heavy swim usage I shock with chlorine-free shock to sanitize with out raising the chlorine level. As a retired Pool Store employee I have recommended this type of shock many times to customers who have had high chlorine levels but needed additional water sanitation.

      No more rashes!
We have had our above ground pool in use for the past 11 years. We were always using cholorine granular on a daily basis. Last year my husband developed a skin rash every time he went in the pool so we had our water tested. Our Cyanunic Acid level was 268ppm. The norm is 30-80ppm. We were advised not to use our pool. When the level of cyanuric acid rises, the “killing power” of the free chlorine residual weakens. At above 50 ppm of cyanuric acid, the time it takes to kill bacteria in the water ... read more is much longer compared to swimming pool water without cyanuric acid. When the level of cyanuric acid builds up, the chlorine becomes increasingly less effective in keeping the water clean and problems such as high bacterial and algae growth can occur. We were advised to drain our pool and start over, which we did. We now only use the Chorine free shock daily and our levels are now in the normal range and our pool is clean. No more rashes! I would have never known that cyanunic acid would have built up in our pool so much over the years and cause bacteria. We definitely recommend using the chlorine free shock and will continue to do so.

      Fast accting
I used many other pool shock products and was disappointed, some left residue that forced me to vacuum entire pool, then I had to wait for chlorine count to come down -usually 24 hours, when I switched to chlorine free shock I don't have to worry about these issues, this product does what it supposed to do with no "side effects" could enter the clear water in my pool several minutes after application

      Excellent product
I have been using this product from in the swim for several years now and have absolutely no complaints! This shock is as good as any other I have ever used. It works great for spring opening ! I only need to use one bag in the spring to open my pool and then one bag approximately every week to maintain crystal clear water! Excellent Shock for the price!

      Great Value and results
Bought the Shock cheaper than i can find anywhere else. Also purchased the Algecide. Pool has been CRYSTAL clear ever since.

      Good Only When Needed
I only use a 68% calcium chloride when opening my pool and after adding water when back washing my sand filter to keep the hardness in check. My local pool store sells bags of this for $0.99/lb. Works great as a shock but even after mixing and pouring in front of returns, the water remains cloudy. Muriatic acid brings the PH back in line and removes the cloudy look. The acid adds to the expense and its another chemical I don't like to store with young children. If you test your water regularly ... read more and keep everything balanced there is no need to use a shock. During the summer I only add 6% liquid chlorine that the local pool store sells for $0.99/gallon. Liquid chlorine will not cloud the water and has no other ingredients to upset my pools chemistry.

      So far, so good
Had too much CYA from “stabilized chlorine” and needed to lower, this product gave me chlorine without CYA, and I’ve had seen my CYA lowering since using it (have had to pump pool few times due to rain) but I use about 6-8oz every other day for 20k gallons, and have had no issues. Was worried about price paid and thought of it not lasting long, however, I’ve hardly put a dent in the bucket, and probably could make a full season last from one bucket at the rate I’m using currently

      Great product
My CYA was getting high so I needed something to add chlorine/shock my pool that wouldn’t increase it. This is exactly what I needed! It works well and my pool is very clear.

      Hreat Stuff!
We have been getting all of our pool products from In The Swim for several years. Everything does exactly what they are supposed to do. The Shock and this product are awesome. We have a 44k gal inground pool. Its a struggle to keep the levels up due to size and sun. This product gets the water back in shape over night!! Thank you In The Swim.

      Dissolves like a dream!
I’ve used this chlorine a few times now and t works like a charm. Just sprinkle it in and it actually dissolves instead of sitting on the bottom of the pool like some others. Very happy!!

      Great Product
I love the fact that this product works so well with no fuss and muss, You dump the appropriate amount into the skimmer basket and let your filter do the rest. I have no problem maintaining the proper chlorine level and the filter does all the work. If you do run into any algae growth, a heavier dose of this product works well to kill it. No wasting money on costly algaecides. Reccomended doses for weekly shock are on the container too. I also love the safety lid. I have used many that are just ... read more so hard to open, this one just has you squeeze the tab and rotate. No more fighting the lid just to get to the chemical.

excellent pool shock & spa super chlorinator
I have had a pool for 35 years and have always used dichlor as my shock (except for hth early on). it works great and the price is good (wish it were cheaper but In The Swim's price compares favorably to the competition). the tub lid is easy on / easy off. NOTE: If you buy a tub for the pool and have a spa, set some of this product aside for use as your spa chlorinating agent. (It is a lot cheaper than buying the spa chlorinating agent which is the identical formulation).

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Pool Shock

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

    Shock Treatments for Swimming Pools

Granular pool shock treatments are a convenient way to sanitize and disinfect pool water. Used in small amounts, our pool shock can raise chlorine levels quickly for a pool found to be lacking. In larger amounts, pool shock will easily super-chlorinate or hyper-chlorinate pools for removal of cloudy water, chloramines, disinfectant by-products, and all types of bacteria, virus and microbes found in pool water.

The Many Types of Pool Shock

    •  - Di-Zap Multi Shock is stabilized, and can be used daily in pools, spas and fountains without calcium build-up.
    •  - Pool Shock and Super Pool Shock from In The Swim is suitable for all purposes, sold in bags and buckets.
    •  - Non-Chlorine pool shock does everything that pool shock does, with exception to killing heavy algae blooms.

The Many Uses for Pool Shock

    •  - Restores clarity to cloudy pool water
    •  - Kills pool algae strains of all types
    •  - Sanitizes to destory bacteria of all types
    •  - Removes chloramines and other chlorine byproducts
    •  - Breaks down organic and non-organic matter, and bather waste
    •  - Raises chlorine levels quickly when found to be near zero
    •  - Removes stains on plaster, pebble and fiberglass pools

    Where's the Lithium Shock?

Lithium pool shock is no longer available, due to a worldwide shortage of the raw element Lithium. Lithium prices have risen steadily over the past ten years, driven by high demand for Lithium, used in Lithium Ion batteries from everything from wrist watches to electric vehicles. The price increases in 2016 finally reached a tipping point, where manufacturers stopped producing Lithium Hypochlorite. The best substitute for Lithium pool shock is non-chlorine pool shock, in terms of having the most similar features. Calcium Hypochlorite can also be used in place of Lithium Hypo as well, however it does not dissolve as rapidly; pre-dissolving is recommended for vinyl pools.

    Should I Pre-Dissolve Pool Shock?

When using chlorine pool shock in a Vinyl pool, it is recommended to pre-dissolve the granules in a bucket of water before adding to the pool. Plaster, pebble and fiberglass pools can pour or broadcast directly into the pool, using a pool brush afterwards to help distribute the granules. To Pre-Dissolve pool shock, pour 1 or 2 bags into a clean 5-gal bucket that has been 3/4 filled with pool water. Stir for 60-90 seconds until completely dissolved, and then pour along the edge of the pool. If any remaining granules fall into the pool, use a pool brush to help them dissolve.

How Do I Shock My Pool?

    •  1. Clean the pool of debris before shocking a pool
    •  2. Balance the water chemistry and adjust pH to 7.2-7.4
    •  3. Each pound of pool shock will deliver between 7-9 PPM, per 10,000 gallons of pool water
    •  4. Add enough shock to reach a target threshold of 10, 20 or 30 PPM, depending on water condition
    •  5. Brush the pool, and run pool filter for 6-8 hours following shock treatment
    •  6. Keep solar covers safely stored off the pool until high chlorine level subsides
    •  7. Check chemistry levels within 24 hours and adjust as needed, if chlorine is found to be zero, repeat shock treatment

    Pool Shock Treatment Tips

    •  - Always add shock to water, Never add water to pool shock
    •  - Always use the entire bag, Never store half-used bags of shock
    •  - Always distribute the shock around the pool, Never pour into the skimmer
    •  - Always shock a pool with a pH level on the low side, 7.2-7.4, where chlorine is more potent
    •  - Always brush the pool after shocking, with a stiff pool brush, or a stainless steel bristled algae brush
    •  - Always rinse out your shock bags in the pool, and allow them to dry before disposing in the trash
    •  - Always sweep up any shock spills immediately, and pour into the pool. Never mix chlorine types.
