    Closing Accessories

Prefer the double tubes to the single tubes....
We have been buying these water tubes for over 26 years, and have always been very happy with them, until the past few years, when it seems that the tubes have gone down in quality, due to many tubes having leaks in them!! Just like so many products in our world today, quality has gone down and down, but price has gone up and up..............

      Ultimate Double Tubes
Good tubes that work well, as long as you don’t get a leaker. I have ordered six new Ultimate Double 10’ Tubes two years running. Each time there has been a split in the seam between the double tubes causing one side to leak. Each time I have called In The Swim and they replaced the defective tube.

      Good Sturdy Water Tubes
I like the thickness of these bags and feel confident they'll hold up nicely during our Northeast winter weather not to mention so far they are immune to the squirrels that run over them trying to get a drink of rain water that accumulates on the pool cover putting little rips in them as has happened with lesser quality bags. I also like the double sided feature just in case something unforeseen should manage to tear one side the other side still holds enough water to keep the cover securely in place.

      Pool Closing Plugs
The plugs are fine, but more expensive than at my local pool store.

      Nothing Special
Average quality for a box of pool chemicals and a piece of cable.
    2. 3 years ago
Not the same as original cable
Much Stronger cable that we ordered to replace a two year old one for the winter cover that we purchased from In the Swim. Please be aware that it is THICKER than the original - we had to drill out the hold in the aluminum turn buckle to accomodate the new larger one. No problems - but is not an exact replacement. You may have to alter your tightener mechanism.

      Exceptional quality
I bought this cable and ratchet toreplace the original that came with the pool. This cable is better than the original. It is much thicker and better quality.

      Pool heater cover
We live in an area where the winter temperatures can become -25 or lower. I wanted to protect the several thousand dollar investment that we made from from the winter elements and this cover appears to be exceptional for the price. Hopefully it will provide the protection that we're hoping for.

      Works well if used correctly
I've been using these 4x8 pool pillows for years. I've never had a problem with them deflating or going flat. As a rule I take a new pillow in the fall, mark it with the date and only use it for two winters then throw it away. Pillow should only be inflated half-way. Pillow is not intended to hold the winter cover up to keep water from accumulating. The intent of the pillow is to absorb the pressure from the ice as the water freezes so it doesn't blow out your pool walls. Proper winter cover ... read more installation is to put the cover on over the pillow and allow it to settle to the water surface around the pillow. The cover should be secured around the pool perimeter with a cable and clips so it has enough slack so the cover can rest on as much of the pool water surface as possible. You then add water on the winter cover around the pillow after installation to hold it in place. You may need to drain some water off the cover before it freezes but you should try to keep about 2" of water on the cover just before it freezes up for the winter.

      Air pillow
I purchased this air pillow to use under the pool cover on my inground pool. I find it helps keep the water that gets on the cover towards the edges of the pool where I can pump it off easier. The last one lasted 6 years. Hope to get at least that out of this one. Looks well made.

      Not sure it’s necessary
Got the 4x8 oblong. Huge! Blew up easily with my shop vac. Tied in pool as recommended, but then the cover won’t lay flat due to the ropes. Removed ropes. Cover blew off and air pillow blew out (guess that’s why you tie it). Re covered the pool without it, and it’s been sitting untouched in my garage for 2 weeks. Has lost nearly all of its air.

A few little gulps and leaves are gone!
We purchased this, but did not use it the first year....that has not happened since!!!!!! .We live in the country with huge old trees surrounding us....depending on when we close the pool in the fall, we sometimes have quite a few leaves around the bottom drain of our inground pool when we open it in the Spring. You hook the hose up to this thing, and the pressure from the water of the hose forces those leaves up into the bag in not time! This is one of our most favorite pool "gotta haves!!".. ... read more it makes opening the pool so much easier!

      Outstanding timesaver
I left it to other family members to shut down the pool last fall while I was out of the country. When I returned during winter, nothing had been done; it hadn't even been covered. After the snow and ice melted this spring, I found the darkest green pool I've ever seen. No matter how much I netted and vacuumed, I couldn't get enough leaves out. When this product arrived yesterday afternoon, I went right to work. In about an hour, even though I couldn't see the bottom, I had removed more leaves ... read more than I had during the entire previous weekend. I wish I had noticed it sooner in the catalog as it would have saved me many hours of back breaking work.

      Great product for the price
This product is fairly simple, you attach a garden hose to it and it sprays several jets of water from a plastic ring into a bag attached to it. The jets of water cause leaves and any other lightweight debris to go into the bag as well. It attaches to the end of a standard pole such as the one you would use with your vacuum. For the price it is a great product and gets leaves out of the pool in a hurry. The only downside is that the bag allows fine silt to escape so it will cloud you pool, but ... read more when you have a bunch of leaves in it, chances are it's cloudy already and getting the leaves out is more important that worrying about the brown spray from using the leaf gulper.

      Great Product!!!
We have used it for the last 3 years and will order a roll this fall also. It works great keeping the air from getting under the winter cover. It requires being stretched really tight when applying to the pool. We have an 18' pool and we use the whole roll. When we wrap our pool, we wrap it in three different levels so it is about 30 inches high all around the pool. It pays to check it a few times during the winter to make sure it hasn't worked itself up during heavy winds. Last year during a ... read more windy time in April, ours worked itself off and ended up in the neighbor's yard. If it's installed correctly, it is a GREAT PRODUCT!!

      Couldn't imagine winterizing without this!
This stuff is priceless it goes on easily it comes off easily and while it's on it definitely does its job keeping the wind out from under the cover I could not imagine closing a pool without this product!

Second Time I have used it!
One of the things that have always caused problems with my pool cover is over the winter as liquid adds to the cover, it tends to pull and the clips tend to pop off. With the plastic wrap, I get a great seal on the cover and it doesn't tend to "sink" over the winter as water gets in the pool. I do pump from the cover, but that is difficult in the dead of winter. This product has helped a lot.
