      Bromine bslances big pool
Take it easy, bromine and shock from In The Swim keep my 36 000 gallon pool clear. Good price on shock

      Works great
Bought second time around, really has the best sanitizing power of any I've used before. Clear clean water. Only have to shock 1 time a month. Like the separate bags, no messing with reaching into the can and have the bromine smell for a day or two.

      Bromine
When product arrives, most of the bags are half full of bromine POWDER which is not how it is dispensed in the brominator. So for the price it is not good. I could pay about $15 more at a local store and the tablets are solid and have much less powder residue.

      They do dissolve very slowly
if you want slow you get slow. I also use granular chlorine but have some of these in a floater to keep up in the heat. I put some in more than 2 weeks ago and they are still not completely dissolved..maybe a bit too slow for me but it is what they are advertised to do.

If you have a aqua genie that uses 1 inch tablets it is measured in bags for the exact amount. I like that! Shipping is really fast!

I have used the 1 inch tablets for several years. What I especially like is that tbey come pte-packaged to fill our floating clorinator and our automated clorinator..

      Crystal Clear pool
The tablets are great. pool is so clear.. The stronger percentage of chlorine is much better than the local department store brand..Hth..very happy with the price, delivery and effectiveness. In The Swim was recommended to us by friends that also have a pool.. Very good advice...

      50 lbs of 3” tabs
Everything I’ve come to expect from this company has been fantastic!!! The product I am looking for, at a great price, and shipped blazingly fast! The tabs come in a strong sealed bucket and are all individually wrapped. Same stuff as from the local pool store, just at a smaller price.

      Best price
Check out local box and pool stores for price on 3" tabs. In the swim beat them by over 50%. They wanted AL ost as much for half the amount of tabs. Always am buying here for all my pool needs

      THE BEST
I USED TO THINK CHLORINE WAS CHLORINE; it's all the same. I have been using the super multi tabs for a few yrs now. Will never use anything else. I never have problems with algae or spring start ups. I used to spend days in the spring getting pool back in shape. We live in dusty Arizona & those monsoon dust storms we get can play havoc on a pool. Best chlorine!

      Replenished our supply
In the Swim ships quick. Very competitive prices. This tablets work great at maintaining our chlorine level. We put a tablet in each of the skimmers and the water remains crystal clear. The tablets last about 3 to 4 days (less on real hot summer days). We repurchase these tablets at least every year.

      Chlorine Sticks
I highly recommend the use of In The Swim's Chlorine Sticks. They are the best, most long lasting, effective and inexpensive I have used in the 38 years I have had my pool. You cant go wrong with these chlorine sticks. My pool looks great.

      very good product
I have been using In The Swim chlorine sticks for about 15 years now along with ITS pool shock and Algaecide 60 plus in my pool. With Texas summers having 100° + temperatures, the combination of these products keeps my pool clean and clear. I maintain my pool on a year round basis with these products and don't have to do spring startup or winterizing and have never had any green water.

      So far, so good
Had too much CYA from “stabilized chlorine” and needed to lower, this product gave me chlorine without CYA, and I’ve had seen my CYA lowering since using it (have had to pump pool few times due to rain) but I use about 6-8oz every other day for 20k gallons, and have had no issues. Was worried about price paid and thought of it not lasting long, however, I’ve hardly put a dent in the bucket, and probably could make a full season last from one bucket at the rate I’m using currently

Great value, even better when on sale!
I have a 60,000 gal in-ground in the middle of the woods in the northeast... constant debris, wildlife, etc. making its way into the pool on a daily basis makes keeping the chemistry balanced and inhibiting algae growth a constant struggle. Previously I was running to the local pool store and picking up liquid chlorine 15 gals at a shot to balance and shock the pool in conjunction with my In The Swim Tri-Chlor tablets in my 2 chlorinators. I decided to give the Calcium Hypochlorite ... read more Sanitizing Granules a shot when I saw the 50# container on a great sale price while reordering my Tri-Chlor tabs. My first shock treatment only took 6# of granules, where as I typically would need 10-15 gallons to reach the same effect. Cost to product ratio was far better with the Granules, plus I can store the 50# much safer in a smaller space than the equivalent in liquids with fewer trips. Not to mention I'm far less likely to get a chemical burn from splashback or accidental spillage with the granules. From my initial experience, I estimate that I will continue this method over liquid chlorine from now on.

      Clean Pool!
First time in 20 years of having a pool, that I have not had a water clarifying problem. Thanks to In The Swim products.

Indoor pool so cal hypo is the way to go for us. One tab will typically go about three days. It does require a constant eye on your pH as it will raise pH levels in the pool. Recommend for indoor pools where you don't get direct sunlight and thus don't need cyneric acid.

      Not anti-scale
I've been using these for about a year now in my well chlorinator, and I have to descale it weekly.

      Great product
Easy to purchase and product was shipped immediately. Tablets are much easier on pool and equipment.

Much easier than the liquid and does just as good of a job.

      Won't switch back!
I ALWAYS use liquid chlorine and would pick it up with my groceries while at my local Wal-Mart. The huge bottles took up most of my cart not to mention mixing with groceries never set right with me. I saw this product online and with the free shipping thought, why not. When I first received the package, I thought something was wrong because the box was so small. The bottles were really little which really worried me. I can't believe how well they work. One of these little bottles works better ... read more and lasts longer then a whole gallon jug of the other stuff I used to buy. It dissolves quickly and does not leave a powder residue on the bottom of the pool floor. A little more expensive then what I was paying before but I use less and it gets delivered right to my door. So worth it!

      Excellent product!
Love this stuff. It works wonders and fast too. Highly recommend.

In The Swim Knowledge Pool: Chlorine & Bromine

    In The Swim's Dr. Pool

    Differences between Chlorine and Bromine?

The general rule is that Bromine is more often used in Spas and Hot Tubs, and Chlorine is more often used in pools. Although they are close cousins and adjacent to each other on the Periodic Table, they have distinct differences, and unique properties to offer benefits to certain users. Bromine vs. Chlorine? Read on for more information about pool and spa sanitizers.

    Chlorine and Bromine

    • - Bromine can be reactivated to reduce cost, but bromine tabs cost more than chlorine.
    • - Bromine is more stable in hot water, longer lasting sanitation, even during full use.
    • - Bromine is more stable in wider pH range, remains strong under high pH swings.
    • - Bromine Less odor to the water, and less irritation to skin and hair.

    • - Chlorine tablets are the most economical way to sanitize a pool.
    • - Chlorine tablets are stabilized for sun protection, slow dissolve formula.
    • - Chlorine tablets dissolve rapidly enough to treat larger pools effectively.
    • - Chlorine dissolves faster for quick superchlorination or shock treatment.

    There are Several Chlorine Options:

Chlorine dissolves fast and almost instantly begins to sanitize your pool water.  Chlorine tablets or chlorine sticks can be used in floating chlorinators, or placed to dissolve in an In-line or Off-line chlorine feeder. You can also make use of granular chlorine, dissolved into a large bucket of water for vinyl pools, or sprinkled directly into most concrete pools. Liquid chlorine is another option that offers affordable versatility for sanitizing your swimming pool.

Chloramines form when a chlorine molecule has combined with ammonia or nitrogen and produces the familiar chlorine scent often associated with swimming pools—it’s not the smell of free chlorine, but of combined chlorine. As chloramines build up they reduce the effectiveness of chlorine—like a traffic jam. When Total Chlorine (Free+Combined) is greater than 0.3 ppm, (TC-CC=FC), this is time to shock your swimming pool.

UV rays from the sun breakdown chlorine molecules which also contributes to making chlorine less effective. Although our chlorine tablets are stabilized, it takes some time for a residual to build up. Pool stabilizer (aka conditioner) contains cyanuric acid, which combines with chlorine, protecting the chlorine from sunlight degradation. It’s like sunscreen for your chlorine, and will save you money spent on chlorine in the long run.

Can I use Bromine In My Pool?

Bromine Tablets are slow-dissolving by nature, and can take longer to build up a residual, although bromides can be added to quickly boost levels. Bromine is also un-stabilized, so it does not stand up well to bright sunlight. However, bromine is a popular sanitizer for indoor pools or heavily shaded outdoor pools. Indoor pool owners enjoy the softer odor of bromine, and enjoy the ability to re-activate bromides into bromine, simply by shocking the pool (with chlorine!).

To use bromine tabs in a spa, you will need to have a bromide ion 'bank' built up, or a preexisting level of bromide ions (the reduced form of bromine). Many spa users add Brom Booster to raise levels quickly after draining the hot tub. Then you can simply use the bromine tabs in a feeder or floater. Bromine is far more stable and effective in high temperatures, which is why it is almost always used in spas and hot tubs.

Can I Use Chlorine In My Spa?

The money you will save by purchasing chlorine over bromine for use in a spa is negated rather quickly due to the fact that you will need to use much more chlorine to keep the spa sanitized due to the heat of the water, heavy bather loads, and since it cannot be reactivated the way that Bromine can. Bromine tablets can be used in small floating feeders in spas or hot tubs because they hold such a small amount of water and the bromine can disperse more effectively.

Bromine is also more effective over a broader spectrum on the pH scale than chlorine. In the context of a spa, 4 people entering the water can cause extreme swings in the spa pH level since it is a significantly smaller volume of water. When pH levels rise above 8.0, chlorine can become 50% less effective, whereas bromine remains potent at higher pH levels.

    Never Mix Chlorine and Bromine

Some people may choose to sanitize via bromine because they have sensitive skin.  Some people prefer the convenience of chlorine’s ability to quickly be raised or lowered. However, if you do decide to switch from one to the other you will need to buy a new feeder or floater. Mixing Chlorine and Bromine can cause a dangerous chemical reaction with even the slightest bit of residue.
