I have had these steps / ladder for 8+ years...NO rust or weak steps...Comes spotlessly clean with hose or powerwasher...The security of ease of entry and exiting of pool is 2nd to none...There is no way to have entrapment when in the pool...This may cost more initially but the durability and comfort are worth it and in the long run very cost effective...Extra bonus that the gate locks - very important for insurance purposes....

I bought this a couple weeks ago and it is great. Simple to put together and the quality is great. Thought I would need sand bags or something to weigh it down but they were not needed. We just made sure to slowly submerge stairs to allow air to escape and water to fill. Best purchase I have made for our pool. Delivery was quick and arrived as scheduled. If you want a nice quality stair and not build a deck this is the perfect choice.

Stable excellent pool ladder
This is a really expensive ladder, but worth every penny, We paid an extra $200 for the Harrows pool company one and it still sucked. It was unstable, required sand to hold it in the pool. The Confer ladder was so much better. Easy to assemble (but it took some time), a little heavy to get into the pool, but using water to add weight was so much simplier. Big hit with my 63 year old wife!
This is an inexpensive option for families with small animals. Our Bichon/Poodle was quick to adapt to the ramp. It also provide some peace of mind with our cats. The only drawback so far was adjusting the ropes that secure the ramp. It took a bit of time but they stay put when tied off.

I put it up yesterday and while I was working on the pump saw the cat fall in the pool and she swim over and got right out! WOW it works!

Absolute need for pet owners!
I lost a dog in our pool and have lived in fear until finding the Skamper Ramp. We purchased the large one and have installed and taught our 50 pound dog to use - which she does with ease! I now have peace of mind that I hopefully will never live through that horror again. If you have an inground pool with only ladders - this is a must!
Needs sand to for weight, 20 lbs we could use more . Am thinking filling with H2O day work as well. But directions said sand. Stairs are rounded not flat like stepping on a pipe . Maybe I should have have it 3 stars. Will not corrode.

I bought this about a month ago, I like that it is plastic (no rusting). The part of the ladder that is in the water seems to be really sturdy, but the handrails are a little shaky. Wish it would have been sturdier.
When we bought our pool I knew we woud want stairs, but spending another $500.00 wasn't in the budget. So we waited a few weeks. 5 grandkids under 2, pregnant moms and we aren't getting any younger. I looked everywhere to see what there was, that we could afford. THIS WAS THE WINNER! and we absoutley made a great investment. Getting in and out of the pool is easy, Handing small kids up to waiting arms is easy and a safe landing for the little ones learning to swim. Besides getting the pool this

As good having an inground pool!
I love these stairs. They were really easy to put together. They stay in place well. They look great! Easy to see at night. The reason we purchased these stairs is so my puppy could walk into and out of the pool without assistance, they work great for this. He swims up to the top stair then climbs out on his own. My deck goes up to my pool edge. With the stairs in place it makes the pool look like an inground pool. We secured the stairs to the deck for safety. I wouldnt have an above ground pool without them.

Love these steps
We have had these stairs in our pool for over 13 years. I bought the original ones from another retailer for a lot more money 13 years ago. We broke them this year because we didn't have the man power to lift and should have had someone in the water helping to get them out. These steps have been great for babies, they have been through 5 grandchildren and my 90 year old mother really loves them, she can get in and out of the pool very easily which is why I am purchasing the same stairs as I had.
We bought our current pool last year and it only had a standard ladder. Our autistic daughter, who normally is a fish during the summer, refused to climb the ladder and if we lifted her into the pool, she became hysterical. This year we found the staircase system and enclosure. She loves it and the enclosure gives us peace of mind that she can not get in the pool without us opening it for her.

Love it !
We got a pool last year and it came with a ladder and we hated it. So I started looking around for steps so my elderly Mother-in-law could get into the pool with our family along with all my neices and nephews. We planned on getting just the steps and after 6 weekends of my brother in law not showing up to build it, we took the lumber back and I called and ordered another set of steps and the enclosure kit. Yes, is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. We put it together today and it did
... read more take about 4 hrs to assemble the whole unit.(2 people) You have to put together both set of steps and the the enclosure kit and the gate. It is alittle time consuming. The only issue we had was we built a stone patio outside the pool and the pool and the patio are not the same level which we did have to finangle it a bit to level it up. The unit does have some room for play but if there is more than and inch difference your side rails will not line up correctly. We eventually did get it to work and I am very happy with the product so far. It looks good and it is very easy to walk up into the pool and out. I am so glad I spent the extra money and bought the steps instead of the ladder. You won't be sorry.
The ladder seems to be very well made and very comfortable to use but even after putting 12 small bricks in the available spaces, the ladder would not remain on the bottom of the pool. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that this was a replacement ladder and I used the same deck fitting to mount it. From what I can see that should not have made a difference.

Fits pool perfectly. Ordered on Thur Not expecting Ladder until Monday was amazed when it showed up at my door less than 24 hours later. Told Fed Ex I could not believe it was here as quickly as I received it. Driver said this company is great to work with because they fill orders as they are received and ship immediately. This is with out any shipping charges. Thank you In the Swim and Fed Ex for a great experience.

Nice ladder but damaged
Both poles bent on first shipment. One pole bent on second shipment. Instead of sending it back I used one of my poles from my old ladder I had. Extra support needed above first step to anchor to the deck. Drilled a hole in each aluminum pole and bolted in down to the deck. Nice and sturdy when done that way. Expect damaged poles because there is nothing to protect it from damage during shipping.
