ladder not up to code in CT
ladder needs to have a self-locking gate so it's not up to code, at least in Watertown, CT. Other than that great product

      Good ladder
Looking for a good ladder found one. Frame is strong and easy to assemble. And it comes with a 5 year warranty how can you beat the.

      Great Ladder
It was so easy to put together. I also bought the stabilizer bar and there is no movement when climbing up and down the ladder.

      A Huge Difference
I bought this ladder to replace the standard gray one that came with my out of ground pool. The original ladder looked cheap and tacky. Since my out of ground pool is sunk into a large deck with planters and palm shrubs the new ladder adds a definite "in ground" appearance. The ladder also provides easy and safe access to the pool and is very sturdy. I also found that by not inserting the screws into the base mounting I can easily lift the ladder out to allow the pool cleaner to do its work ... read more effectively. The ladder is a well designed and good product and I would not hesitate to recommend it to any one who wants to improve the look and the access to their pool.

In response to icegator's review: He said: "This is a solid ladder and is lightweight. Make sure you cut your hole through your deck on the small side. This will keep the ladder from raising up and moving." My response: You don't need to cut your holes on the small side in your deck in order to keep it from sliding up and down. Once you have the flanges screwed down onto the deck and you insert the aluminum handles, you simply predrill a hole right through the neck of the plastic flange and into ... read more the ladder handle itself, and simply insert a screw (I used the white head screws used for aluminum siding, they blend in too). This keeps the handle from sliding up and down through the deck holes. Remember to do it for both handles and as an extra measure, I also did it to the handles that insert into the ladder neck. Also they tell you to add some weight to the bottom step, I placed clean stones tied inside canvas bags and stuffed them into the little compartments on the backside of the bottom step, works great! Gives it a nice solid feel! Ms. Willie

      Great value
This ladder was a great investment. I did a lot of shopping around and found this one a a good price. It was my first purchase at In the Swim and it won't be my last. I was impressed by how quickly it arrived. It was very easy to install and I like the way it looks. My previous ladder had metal handles and it ended up looking rusty.

      Above ground ladder
I bought this ladder to replace one that has lasted over 8 years. I feel Like I'll be lucky to get two out of this one. The plastic is much l Thinner and the base you stand on as you get out of pool is really flimsy. The price was decent but the quality feels lacking. We shall see.

      Great Ladder
I bought this ladder a few weeks ago and I am very satisfied with it. I am 300 pounds and it is a pretty sturdy ladder.

      Solid steps
This ladder is built sturdy and is simple to put together. Way better than climbing up and down the A-Frame ladders.

      Very Good product
I purchased the size that was offered with these steps but, in my opinion, it should be the bigger one offered with the steps to cover all the bottom of the steps, not just the front part. But other than that is a great thing to protect your liner under the steps.

Looks like it would work great, IF I had NEEDED it
When I ordered this item online, I thought I was going to need this Step Pad because we had an above ground pool. Then I had an accident, ended up hospitalized for a month, & need physical therapy. Because I need to exercise my legs, we took down our shallow above ground pool and installed an inground pool with built in steps. So there's no need for this item.

      Liner replacement protection
After replacing our original liner we wanted something to protect our new liner and this product work perfectly.

      Easy to use!
I bought this about a month ago. It works great! Wish I would of had it last summer. The steps are easy for me to put down and put up. Last year I could not tell if ladder was in or out of pool without walking to the pool. Now it only takes a glance to see if ladder is up when the grandkids come over. We opted not to attach it to the pool, instead we order the outside stabilizer. The wide steps are also a plus.

A very sturdy ladder. So much better than the ladder that came with our pool. If you have so heavier people n your group this ladder works great.

U could use a little more directions.
I would recommend this product to any one. Works great and easy to operate.

Deck flanges are a seperate item!!
Be sure to order your deck flanges along with this item. Holes in plastic steps may need trimmed for the pipe to slide through easily. Overall looks like a good product. In The Swim shipping our deck flanges in a couple days. Will update review when they arrive.

Great steps- works well- what a job to winterize!
This is my second set of confer steps. The first lasted for eight years and showed signs of splitting so I went for a second set, which is quite different from the first set. The new one is much more stable and has to be screwed together once the water steps are in the water. Getting the steps out of the water is an awful process- they are filled with water, very heavy and it is more than a two person job. The first set of steps could have come out still assembled to each other. Not with ... read more these- so there is a 100 plus pounds of steps floating around my above ground pool- just be aware that the steps work great when assembled and are an awful job when winterizing your pool.

      Granny tested
I built them in one day. I needed a friend to help lift the one half into the pool. They were a little heavy to adjust the height once I got them in the pool. There was a learning curve about getting them good and level, so that the two staircases can be attached with good stability. The "non-entrapment step facing" and "the skids" on the bottom of both sides should be installed outside of the pool, and secured with a little tape until you have the steps installed well. Once the stairs are in ... read more you will not be able to adjust the liner, so be completely ready to place the steps where you want them. Mom/Granny went swimming today and did great. She was fully in control all the way into the pool and all the way out to the sidewalk.

      excellent for safety and ease
I have had these steps / ladder for 8+ years...NO rust or weak steps...Comes spotlessly clean with hose or powerwasher...The security of ease of entry and exiting of pool is 2nd to none...There is no way to have entrapment when in the pool...This may cost more initially but the durability and comfort are worth it and in the long run very cost effective...Extra bonus that the gate locks - very important for insurance purposes....

Very solid. Great addition to our pool.
I'll start with my only negative. Have to do a little trimming of the rough edges of plastic left from the molding process. This makes everything fit a lot better. Positives: Great product. Very solid. Soooo much better than a ladder even the one we had with wide steps. Makes getting in and out so much better for everyone. From our 14 month old grandson to our 70 year old father. Even makes it easy in and out for our Springer Spaniel. He loves the water and this eases our concern over him ... read more putting holes in the liner getting out of the pool. Definitely worth the money!!

      Great steps
Could not be happier with this purchase! The system came in two boxes and once unpacked, took me about 2 hours to fully assemble by myself including the time to fill the base with sand. The steps went together easily and dropped into the pool easily. I have a deck, so sinking them was easy, however, if you have to lift them in, I would highly recommend two or three people to help. While they were heavy going into the pool, they are solid and do not move once filled with water and set. They ... read more are stable and great to use getting in and out. The handrails are a bit wobbly as you might expect from plastic, but overall went together easily and are steady in the pool and make getting in and out so easy. Highly recommend!!

The curve step system is amazing!
I highly recommend the Curve Step System for anyone that has an above ground pool. They are very well built and the assembly instructions were easy to follow and was as close to trouble free as anything we have ever tried to assemble before. Our above ground pool is buried approximately 3 ft. in the ground, and this step system makes it effortless to get in and out of the pool. We are extremely happy with the look of the steps and have received numerous compliments on them! My husband & I are ... read more very impressed by this product. So much so that he said, "you have to write a review on these so people will know how great these steps are!"
