    How to install an above ground pool cover.
    When you receive your new pool cover, check the pool size listed on the box and make sure that you have received the correct size. Polar Plus aboveground pool covers have a 4 ft. overlap, so if you have a 24 ft. pool, the total diameter of your pool cover will be 28 feet ( 24 ft round pool covers are a biggest seller ). Our aboveground pool covers are listed with two measurements, pool size and cover size. Please order by your pool size, not by the size of the pool cover. Before laying the new pool cover over your pool, inflate an air pillow to sit under the cover, to prevent a solid sheet of ice from forming, which puts pressure your above ground pool walls. After cleaning the pool thoroughly and adding your winter pool kit chemicals, spread the pool cover over the pool so that it overlaps the top rail evenly on all sides. Thread the vinyl coated steel cable through the grommets on the pool cover edge. Then connect the winch to the cable. Tighten the winch to pull the cover tight If you are in areas of high winds, cover clips or wall bags are a good idea to help hold down the pool cover.

    How to care for an aboveground pool cover.
    With a small cover pump or a siphon device, pump off rain water regularly. If too much water gets on the cover, it can cause strain to the material and the seams. Rain water on your pool cover also brings worms, and worms bring birds. Birds can poke holes in your cover with their claws and beaks.. Chipmunks and squirrels running after nuts or berries on the pool cover can also make small holes in the cover. The best reason for keeping your cover clean is to prevent mucky, dirty water from entering the clean pool water beneath. If and when you do develop a large hole in your cover, it can make a real mess if the pool becomes contaminated. In summary, the best way to care for an aboveground pool cover Is to keep it clean.     How to store your above ground pool cover.
    During your spring pool opening, disconnect the cable and winch from the pool cover and take the cover to an area large enough to open it and clean the pool cover Use a garden hose and a brush mounted on a pole. You can use a small amount of dish soap if needed. Before you fold the cover, make sure that it's dry to prevent mildew, and when you fold the cover, use an accordion style pattern, to make it easier the next time you put the pool cover on the pool.
