- This unique plastic device acts as an ice compensator inside your skimmer housing.
- It absorbs the expansion of freezing water inside your skimmer, preventing it from cracking the skimmer housing.
- Simply place Skimmer Guard into your skimmer after lowering the water level in your pool.
- To finish winterizing your pool skimmer and water return, place a 1.5 inch rubber compression plug into the return line fitting to prevent freezing, expanding water from leaking out of the pool and cracking the plastic inlet.
