Skeptical
I am wondering how long the average unit lasts. We purchased May 2008 and this year, it quit working. We have avg sized pool and take very good care of the unit (don't use it during winter, dismantle hose and store well). Very disappointed that it quit working at the end of this season (4th season).
Disappointed that the replacement part needed is $ 289!! But, in defense this is the story on most repairs these days.
Our KK kept our pool sparkling clean but got stuck on the ladder repeatedly. When we installed the leaf canister, it completely took care of this issue.
$100 per year is not bad to spend considering the time saved by having the pool cleaned for us, but I like things to last longer than this. I will research other brands prior to replacing.

GREAT SUCCESS
I AM A NEW POOL OWNER AND HAVE STRUGGLED KEEPING THE POOL CLEAN BY HAND. SO, I RESEARCHED AUTOMATIC POOL CLEANERS AND SPOKE TO FRIENDS WHO ARE POOL OWNERS. MOST OF THEM REFERRED ME TO POLARIS BUT I REALLY HAD A PROBLEM SPEND CLOSE TO A THOUSAND DOLLARS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE KREEPY KRAULY AND ITS PERFORMANCE!!! I CAN IMAGINE OTHER POOL CLEANERS FOR 3 TIMES THE PRICE DOING ANY BETTER OF A JOB.

works well given enough time
The kreepy works well given enough time, but i didnt receive enough hose and weights to cover my 16X32 pool, which i gave dimensions for. Haven't been able to get that info to purchase them. Have seen other reviews stating they were able to get for free...I am willing to buy more-just not the whole set for $150.00!

Good for the money!
I've used my Kreepy for going on the 3rd season and it does a great job. It occasionally gets stuck on the pool ladder and slowly jostles the pool light enough to break the clamp holding it in the wall once a summer. But overall, I'm happy. It cleans every inch of my pool (except the steps). For the price, it's a good choice!
