Troubleshooting

Baracuda G3™ stops and starts.
– Check diaphragm for blockage or damage. Adjust worn diaphragm by loosening cassette swivel, gently pushing down on inner pipe & retightening cassette swivel.

Baracuda G3™ is patterning
– Add return diverters or divert return inlets downward. Lay hose in a straight line in the sun to relax memory. Confirm proper hose length - add 1 to 2 hose sections.

Baracuda G3™ isn't covering the opposite end of the pool
– Add return diverters or divert return inlets downward. Use flow to move cleaner to opposite end. Move hose weight away from cleaner head slightly. In deep pools add additional weight.

Baracuda G3™ stuck at steps
–Utilize return flow (see adjustments). Confirm proper hose length. Adjust flow to cleaner. Adjust hose weight.

Baracuda G3™ stuck under ladder
– Install ladder guard (PN W24000)

Baracuda G3™ flips over
- Contact tech services for local warranty station.

Baracuda G3™ won't climb walls
– Cleaner may not climb walls of some vinyl pools. Use Pool Pulse™ and raise flow. Confirm proper hose length. Adjust hose weight.

Baracuda G3™ doesn't move
– Use Pool Pulse™ to insure proper flow. Clean baskets and filter. Check diaphragm for damage. Check hose sections for leaks by lifting each section above water.

Baracuda G3™ won't leave edge or rim of pool
- Use Pool Pulse™ and lower flow. Utilize return flow to move cleaner. Adjust hose weight.

Baracuda G3 Automatic Pool Cleaner 4.4 5 5 5

Does not come apart as shown I just received my unit today and it's winter here (Pittsburgh, PA) so I have no experience with the actual operation of the unit. But... when I read the owners manual and put it together I thought I also should check to see how well the customer-replaceable parts came off and then back on. The foot pad is probably going to get the most wear. The manual says to remove the foot flange & pad. I was easily able to get the foot pad off of the flange but could not remove the flange. The problem is, with the tight clearances around the edges of the main unit (shell), I could not get the pad back onto the flange. I tried every which way to remove the foot flange but could not get it to budge (it snaps in and locks with a tab on each end). I finally called Zodiac Tech Support but they could not help me. They just said that 1) it should come apart as shown in the manual, and 2) I should be able to get the pad onto the flange without removing the flange. Before calling In The Swim for an RMA number to return the unit, I soaked the pad in very hot water and, while it was still a struggle, I was able to get the pad back on. I am hopeful that the operation of the unit is better than replacing the customer-replaceable parts. January 12, 2011

Barracuda G3 AutomaticCleaner I have owned three Barracuda G3's over the past six years. Each one ran for 24 hours a day, for two years before needing replacement. That's a total of 104 weeks or more of continuous running. A great product. December 14, 2008

Great Time Saver! I'd looked a auto vacs for years. Finally got a G3 and am really glad I did. It's such a time saver. You do have to connect the lengths of hose instead of coiling up like a traditional vacuum hose. I only disconnect two lengths at a time so have half as many to connect. It actually makes storage easier. August 22, 2007
