Beat pool season ever
This is the best pool season in regards to maintenance in years. I was trying to decide on an algaecide this year and selected this based on the ingredients and something i had read on another pool care site.... we've had our pool for 16 years and started with chlorine, switched to baquacil for several years, back to chlorine...... out of the 16 years we probably had 2 trouble free years.... until this year.......i bought 24 pk of shock and this algaecide (i usually go through tons of shock and a few bottles of algaecide trying to keep the algae killed and "trying" to have clear water).... We have a 24' above ground and don't cover it over the winter... we continue to scoop fallen leaves out until the end of fall. In April we had a few nice days so i scooped out most of the remainder of the leaves and mixed 2 bags of shock in a bucket of water and dumped in the pool to get a jump start (before filter). Upon actually opening the pool the middle of May (connecting the filter) i added another bag of shock and filled our floating chlorine dispenser with four 3" chlorine tablets and added probably 6 ounces of the algaecide. I have not used any shock since.. I have used this algaecide faithfully every sunday and have not seen one bit of algae all year. Our pool water is so clean, clear and sparkling.... we usually fight cloudiness, algae etc. I replace the tablets when gone add the algaecide once a week and this has been the extent of my maintenance this year. I actually love our pool again. I will not open the pool again without this algaecide... I even bought two of the sparkle cubes this year as i used one last year and it seemed to help but still had a few algae blooms... i haven't even opened a sparkle cube yet...... i am very happy with this product.

Economical, but . . .
I purchased this in part because the recommended dosage makes it economical. Using the proper initial dose and maintenance doses, and an extra maintenance dose after a rain, I noticed green algae growth after about two weeks. Another initial dose, another maintenance dose, an an extra maintenance dose after more rain and I am seeing new algae (again after about two more weeks). I am going to increase the rate of maintenance doses and see what happens. Basically, I'm happy, but I think the recommended dosage is a little light. When applied, the algaecide is cloudy, but clears quickly. I use conventional chlorine based pool chemistry.

Algicide 50 beats the rain!
It has done almost nothing but rain all summer. We literally had rain 26 days in June and are on a similar trend for July which is usually a recipe for all kinds of Algae growth. I just checked the pool this morning and still no sign of Algae. I'm sold!

Great Hardworking Algaecide
We were beginning to get some algae on the liner of our pool. I wanted to order a non-metallic algaecide since we had staining before from copper. I ordered Algaecide 50 put in the recommended amount around the perimeter of the pool and the next day it was all gone! Amazing product!
